Should be different lar. Fat Fat is definitely a female. I think Yuu is male because I've seen him trying to hump Fat Fat.

Fat Fat isn't a good mother. She eats her babies everytime even if I don't touch the cage for a week. She eats about 1 baby a day.

She's an old hamster, a lot more than 2 years old, slightly less than 3 years old. Her father, Rump, was 3 when he died. She only produced babies more than a year ago and now she's pass that. She seems more calm when there's another hamster around. Can say more brave? The shop person told me that Yuu was female when I bought him. He's a lot younger then, harder to sex. Fat Fat was frightened at everything when her cage mate died. She made a good "recovery" when Yuu was introduced.

I'm just concerned because they've always gotten along really well and the change since last Sunday is very obvious. I'm just wondering if there's anything up I missed.

I've never even seen a white faced robo. No luck I guess... I'm interested to get one of that if I can find. Otherwise, I might start having a syrian.

I've never had hamsters who breed after the age so far into 2 years old. I have to admit, I'm more worried about her passing away than I am about her might-be accidental pregnancy. Maybe seperation is a good idea, but I'm kinda worried she'll be freaked out like when her cage mate passed away...

^^ Yay! I'm glad to say my robos are ok again. They're doing stuff together again. I was suprised and relief to find them sleeping in a corner together this morning. Fat Fat was sleeping like a ball and Yuu was sleeping on top of her, flat like a blanket. XD Cute!

er... just asking and not intending to be rude... but is your setup clean? I kept robos for many years and they never had skin problems cuz my setup is always clean. I provide with sandbath and my robos, Pammy in particular, will go into her bathroom, groom herself and pee + poop there. The bathroom and sandbath is like the same for them... But I take out bits of their poop and pee clutters weekly. So their setup is usually dry and poop-less. And their fur usually very soft. My robos really like to groom themselves, especially since introduction of sandbath.

You sure the baby is hairless or not yet grow in?

Just wanna say that Fat Fat passed away already. She still wanna groom herself before she pass on... Really clean hamster... She was so old... Buried already.

My Pammy giving birth soon. I like to think that Fat Fat is going to reincarnate into Pammy's kids since they live so close to each other and she died just a lil while ago...

Your robo looks fine, like robos its age are suppose to look like. I specially raise only robos. I should know.

Anyway, I think I agree that each hammie have their own taste. Since I only raise robos, I notice that some don't really like boiled egg white. Like fat fat (passed away jor. RIP) only takes a bit of egg white. She just nibbles a little. But she likes vege. Pammy on the other hand LOVES boiled egg white. when i open the tank cover and stick in the egg white, she will run here and there chasing the egg white. She will attack the egg white before it lands in the bowl. She eats veges after egg white so I guess egg whites are her favourite.

It's not abnormal, don't worry.

I don't think you can fully tame your robo. It depends lar on the individual. For example, Rump will come to my hand, sit and walk on it but won't leave my hand until I put him back. Fat Fat will come to my hand without being afraid but she only like to sit a while before she go off. Yuu never like to come on my hand. I think he got traumattized from the pet shop I bought him from. Pammy is interested in my hand and walks arounnd on it. She seems tame lar. I think she'll be like Rump.

The thing is you can definitely tame it to come to your palm daily but I don't think it's 100% that you can tame them to STAY on your palm since they're small and quick. Can be dangerous also when they decided they wanna "suicide" from your palm and jump off.

I can only advise you to be patient. Maybe you can tame it to be like my dear Rump. Just don't get angry if you don't get the result you want. And 1 tip for you ya. Don't chase it with your hand. They'll only get afraid of your hand since it looks like "a big thing that's coming to get me!!" from their point of view. Patience is a virtue.

And I can't tell you when they'll get tame, btw. Pammy is my newest hammie but she's the tamest. Yuu, I got him for more than 6 months and he still don't trust my hand. Rump and Fat fat (RIP to them both) I had them their whole lives but their tameness is different.
