hi,
was wondering if anyone know about the rules and regulation including license on turning a single bungalow or terrace house into office use or makan outlet?
for e.g. there's alot of bridal shop along ss2 and along bangsar selling cars, furniture etc...
what about food outlet? is there a license we need to apply for business or are these illegal to begin with?
thanks lots!

From my own experiences, turning your own house to become a bistro or office isn't an issue. License is a must.

FYI, it is illegal to run businesses using residential properties, you need local council to approve it, or convert the residential properties to commercial shoplot or something approval else to run it othwer wise council can fine you for that.

Please take note that not all residential area allowed to do so like Bangsar's semi-D houses. It's been more than a decade.

1st, convert residential to commercial land title, 2nd, obtain construction permit to rebuild for commercial use 3rd, obtain biz license
its best to ask your neightbour shops for contacts ... agents who are familiar with your area will do things smoother ...

Why dont you just get a decent shoplot? Isnt that is a much simplier step rather than wasting so much time on applying the license etc?
