There are software that can support not only msn, but also yahoo, skype, google talk and icq. eg Fring (most popular), eBuddy, EQO

This phone does not support microsoft office, but it have Quickoffice which can open and edit microsoft office file (word, excel, powerpoint) If want more powerful tools then use Document To Go

If u r talking about the shortcut icons in the standby menu, then its easy, copy the icons (PNG or JPG) from PC to M2, select the icon by scrolling with the jogdial, select more>edit>shortcut icon>Browse....there u have it

Too bad My Phone Explorer cant support P1, otherwise it would be great. Anyway if you intend to backup sms and view it on pc, you can try this software call SMS Diary; this software capture all sms and save it into html format, it even sort it according to name and date with a Table of content! Nice ha. Copy the html file to PC and you'll be able to view it.

Two methods I use to transfer contact from Nokia phone to SE :

1) Use bluetooth transfer 1 by 1, if got 100 contacts, you will transfer like no tomorrow
2) Sync to Ms Outlook and use SE PC Suite to sync back to P1i, thats easy and fast, after transfered, each of my P1i contact show double name (ie Paul Paul, Phua Phua), dont know for what reason.

Another way of backup your phone's contact, calender and task is by using P1 internal backup

example, select calender > More > Calender manager > backup

Im also having the same problem. I using Compaq. But is find for me as I dont really connect using bluetooth. Cable is better still.

Maybe is the compatibility issue of the bluetooth or conflict with internal bluetooth software ??

If you are trying to install latest firmware, you need to install sony ericsson update service from sonyericsson website. Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) is push mail software. If your phone is preloaded with Blackberry then you cant install EAS, uninstall blackberry first then only install EAS

Do this : Control Panel > Device > Text Input > Handwriting > Input Method choose None. The the 3 boxes will be gone

Change to original theme and the whole am word will appear.

For MMS, check this : Control Panel > Messaging > MMS account > Make sure the internet account is selected your 3G WAP account

For connection to internet, check this : Control Panel > Connections > Internet accounts >Choose tab "Groups" > Select internet & click edit > see whether there is 3G WAP.

Aiya u should read first page post#5 Tips and Tricks : Press Alt twice and it will turn to numeric keypad (thinks to fx_53_xt for his hard work)

You need to on the on screen keyboard : in Text Input > On-screen keyboard > Input method > choose Chinese virtual keyboard.
Dont worry the 3 boxes wont appear if you didnt on the handwriting & keyboard. Look for the keyboard icon on top right whenever you want to type.

eee... did your sim card support 3G ?

Are you saying that the on-screen keyboard does not pop out automatically each time you are typing. You want the P1 to show the on-screen keyboard each time you are typing (irrespective of whether you are using on-screen keyboard or qwerty keypad). Right ?

If that is the case, sorry I cant seen to find any of these function yet. Probably 3rd party software can do it

Wah this is really nice package. Value for money.

You can do this : Select the triangle for the top left corner > volume > adjust the volume level of ringtone and message to zero.

Just remember to adjust it back when u wait up

This is my quick review on new firmware R6G04 for CDA 95 (Singapore Chinese) :

Apart from what had been discovered for GW1 ie :

~ Calendar Day View now comes in half-hour interval
~ USB charging option and USB Display on connection option is now moved to "more" menu
~ Improved overall speed
~ Much faster camera focusing speed
~ Camera focusing interface now comes with a center square bracket to let you know where you are focusing.
~ Camera focus status icon will not refresh immediately if focusing mode is changed using shortcut key (4).

Notice the following :

~ Previously during text entering the three box which show 中 and 英; now has been change to 中 and En
~ The irritating black triangle on center right of the screen on some menu has been change to transparent
~ Fixed these problem "Arranged software icons inside specific menu would go back to original location if memory stick removed (if the software is installed in memory stick)"
