hey everyone, i'm exploring the possibility of a cod4 tournament.

DATE: 19th Jan (if there's enough time for players to confirm) or 23rd Feb (After CNY)
LOCATION: TBUN Aman Suria
PLAYERS: 32 OR 48 OR 64
FEE: RM 20
PRIZES: tbc
MAP:
TIME: 10am onwards or 7pm onwards (usually takes about 4 to 6 hours to complete 1 tournament)
GAMEPLAY: team based with 16 randomly chosen each round. winner with highest scores win.
GAME OBJECTIVE: Deathmatch?


would anyone like comment?

some questions on my side:
1. does the game need a server to be created?
2. how many max players in a team?

its a casual tourney, not pro. anyone can play.

i also dont understand on what is it u dont understand. am i suppose to know what u dont understand if u dont say anything?

players will be randomly placed in team to make it more fairer, no team is too imbalanced.

you can send a team, but i'll be breaking them up and randomly placing them with other teams.
its a tourney on getting the most kills. your teamwork skills are important when playing with people you don't know.

no its not a dota tourney.

its near kelana jaya, next to dataran prima.

RM 20, any less cannot cover cost.

bucket with numbers, will have someting similar, not to worry.

due to the lack of response, i'm kiv-ing this for now until the player base matures.

im going to do FFA (but its not final), but in this FFA, i will be jumbling up players in teams and each player needs to work together with strangers to try to get the most kills. each player will be individually ranked after each match with additional bonus points if your team wins.
then in the next round, players are randomised again, this way you will be playing a typical FFA in the cafe, with different people all the time!
the idea is to play random, work with strangers will keeping urself alive. sure ther might be campers but teamwork will play an important role.

ah seng, i worked with you on the Dark Crusade tournament last month...

nothings final, don't worry. what map would you recommend?

random is to make it more noob friendly. if noobs see ur team, they might run away.

i guess shipment is a big nono. i only play SP, haven't tried MP so i can't decide on the map. i need everyone here to suggest.

breaking up people randomly = playing randomly in a cafe with strangers = more opportunities = more casual.
hope the above is easy to understand.
im still more keen to do FFA, as it is easier to understand for now.

TF2= not interested.

helicorpster is right, there are a lot of COD4 kakis there. sorry to disappoint u but im not keen to make this a hardcore tournament. my aim is to make a fun and casual tournament.

yes, its to introduce noobs to the game in a casual format while having an objective (not a grand cash prize, but with enough incentive to try the game and have fun).

i managed to get sample competition format from an online tournament.

i'd like some feedback on this too if possible.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A FINAL CONFIRMATION OF THE TOURNAMENT.

the tourney may be changed to a TDM format, depending on response/feedbac.

it would seem most people like 8v8, more massacre!

oi, don lah hijack the cod4 thread. winning eleven is no longer distributed by me. so sadly, no.

i know you are all anxious to see combat after all the months of training. you have all trained hard and i'm sure that all that training will help you win the war, if not come back safely.

but HQ has yet to issue a final order to go into battle as they feel you pansy marines wont survive in the harsh reality of the the battlezone and thus things will be indefinite for now, at least till CNY 2008.

so take some time off, visit the family and friends, gamble all your money and make sweet love to one you love for when the call of duty comes, you may not return....

in simple english, no budget has been approved yet as i'm pending final approvel from management and even Activision themselves. it'll take some time and i don't know how long.
