Sigh.. was a little disappointed with the team matchup..

1. Fellow Bravo teammates Kay & Terre FFK-ed without letting anyone know..

2. After Pikachu's group went to faceoff with ESP, the other group that was supposed to faceoff with Bravo (Sanction's side) went off to join some public shipment game instead.. did ESP demoralize the entire opposing team until they dont wanna play team game anymore? lol

End up me and Ziet spent 7.5 hours playing public games.. hmmph

Hey Ashley,

1. We didn't know the PC bookings were initially for other people.. when me and Ziet came at 8 to get our PCs, the guy at the counter (Chinese dude with specs) said that our pcs were already taken, and asked if it was okay to reallocate them to 17-21. Well, since we had no idea when the assigned pcs for Bravo would be freed up, we agreed (at this time, still didn't know that Kay and Terre weren't coming)..

Well, kinda regret not being able to do a proper Bravo vs ESP matchup last night - but that's entirely Bravo's fault.

2. But what also did disappoint me was that an entire team went missing! After Pikachu and his squad left to face ESP, I created a server and waited for ESP's previous opponents to join. Chris, tam_ironcup, Ziet & Mush were running around in my game for quite awhile but noone else joined. Checked with Sanction who was sitting behind me.. he said he was "waiting for his friends" who were well, all playing a public FFA Shipment map o.O ..

So no choice lor, we eventually left and joined a public game. Boyscout came close to 11, and the Bravo team pulled an all nighter and played till almost 4 am

Hey, me and Ziet took it seriously enough. Pikachu and ESPs did too. I think whether or not you want to take a gathering seriously is entirely a personal choice.

There WERE proper team face offs - just that some of us either didn't know or didn't think it was important.

I think there are generally 2 types of good COD4 players:

1. Those who seek a tougher competitive challenge against better opponents (if I keep winning all the time, then I can't improve can I?)

2. Those that just want mindless entertainment and stress relief scoring high frag counts killing newbies in public games (play against other pros and lose?? no way!)

We need more of those in the #1 category. Please state your category before the next gathering.. hahaha

lol, i'm not really up for knife only games cause I'm still actually trying to complete a lot of my headshot challenges

To the point that I actually DON'T knife when I manage to creep up on someone (i take aim at the head instead)..

As for Sabotage on Wetworks, I think it's crucial that the respawn time be 10 secs or more otherwise, it really is neverending lol.

Dudes, despite the fact that 2 of our members were late, which we did acknowledge, we DID have a full team waiting to play you guys immediately AFTER your match with ESP. The 5 of us (Chris, tam_ironcup, Pryde, Mush, Ziet) were running circles around waiting nicely. I am pretty sure either Pikachu or ESP asked you guys to joined our game.

But none of you guys even bothered.

Remember, I did ask Sanction "why aren't you guys joining the game, we created a server" - and his reply was "oh, I'm waiting for these guys" (you guys apparently)

And this isn't an issue about maturity. We weren't angry (your reply is making me angry though). I'm merely just expressing disappointment at having kept waiting. Who are the immature ones here exactly?

And how else would I get to communicate this across if not by posting in a forum? I don't know who you guys were, and I surely don't have your contacts. I mean, if you guys really wanted to play a proper matchup, you would have at least made the effort. Can't you guys just admit that at that particular moment in time, you guys actually preferred a public game instead.

Stop shifting the blame to us being late issues. We had enough players and it sure as heck wasn't the reason you guys didn't play us.

Pikachu.. I'm really sorry for venting my frustrations here.. Except the first 30 minutes warmup, and the following few rounds with your squad, the rest of the night didn't quite feel like a gathering to me. I didn't even get to meet you! lol.. I did what I could lar, on my part at least - checking with Ashley, sharing server commands - even walking out and introducing myself to Charlie group while they were at the counter waiting for their PCs.. oh well.. *sigh

I think it's important to highlight that if you submit your name to one of these team matchups, you have a responsibility to show up and play your assigned role (message goes out to fellow Bravo members too). If you only wanted to come and play public games / appear anytime you like - you shouldn't be submitting your name at all.

Oh well, at least I manage to accumulate 70+ headshots for my MP44.. just need another 40+ more to get red tiger! (and move on to the next assault rifle.. hmm)

I'm starting to get that impression too. I once tried making a proper matchup, and sent one of our members to ask if Kitty's group wanted to join for a HC team based game. Because there was just 5 of us in the server, I temporarily set it to FFA on shipment so we could have some fun while waiting. Kitty popped in - made a snide remark about the format.. went "No Thanks" and left before I could even offer to switch game types. sighh Friendly bunch indeed.

They are good players I guess, but as in my earlier list, they belong in the type #2 category. lol..

Well, each to their own I guess..

Just came back from another round at Tbun..

Talk about expensive.. Sat + Sun alone cost me RM25 already not including drinks and mamak.

It is actually quite possible to spend a few hundred on cybercafes in a month!

Okay Sanction, your reply clarifies things a little now..

1. You were sitting directly behind me actually, Ashley provided me your group's PC numbers. I saw you running around the Shipment map, and I did ask you to join our server, but you must have misheard. It should have been quite obvious that there WERE opponents ready to play (after all, Pikachu did play against us immediately before joining ESP's game). Pikachu was the one that asked me to create the server anyway so I was surprised he told you that your opponents were only arriving at 1030?

2. Immediately after leaving Pikachu's game (1st teamup), I created a game named Bravo Company. Passworded DMC as per the usual. I thought this should have been clear that it was meant for the next match. This game was open for about 15 minutes. tam_ironcup left to join u guys on the Shipment game after nobody joined the matchup game.

3. there were 3 Bravo members in attendance. with Chris and tam, there were 5. There was actually even 1 more dude but I forgot his nick.

4. Nobody called us for the yum char despite knowing where we were sitting.

So yeah, we're both pissed at a matter of miscommunication + poor coordination/planning.

Anyway, no intention to flame or anything.. I think its important to voice our discontent, otherwise we wont know what went wrong, and how to prevent it from happening again.

gah? don't tell me he stole the [Bravo] too?? if he did, then I think he probably stole my lvl 55 profile from Tbun and is using it over at FTZ. And he doesnt know/didnt bother to change the multiplayer nick. Bugger.

Pikachu : Don't worry, nobody's flaming anyone, we're all still civil people We're happy you guys (+Ashley) pulled this off, it was a good start for greater things to come.

Who kicks tubers? I find them annoying yes, but its part of the game, and you can't fault someone for a different playstyle right? Besides, is tubing illegal in tournaments? Because if they aren't illegal officially, then they surely shouldn't be illegal in normal games. Tubing could even be the missing link to winning tournaments lol! We could always ask nicely for them to stop, throw some insults even.. but i think kicking is taking it one step too far - they also paid to be at the cafe afterall..

IF we condone kicking tubers, then I also condone kicking anyone with a kill death ratio of 1/3 and above (kill 1 guy, die 3 times) - terrible excess baggage to anyone's team. Or kicking those annoying campers on the same side who are incapable of budging from their spawn point. Or kicking anyone who knives me 3x in a row. Since they are all equally annoying.

Having said that however, tubers are shameless, ignorant, cheap & lousy players

@ BYOB : Hey, Bravo doesn't mind a 4 on 4 matchup. the less players, the easier to organize - will Wed night be okay? I'll check on my end.. We aren't particularly serious either hehe.. at least not like ESP with their personal keyboards, mouse and headsets with ventrilo..
