Greetings to all smile.gif

I doing a major revamp of my rig as my current A64 3000+ on DFI LanParty nForce3 250Gb started to giving me some problems sweat.gif.

I got myself the Intel C2Q6600 and soon be receiving my DFI LanParty DK P35-T2RS board. I'm opting to get the Xigmatek-S1283 CPU cooler as well.

Now, I just wonder if the S1283 will be blocked by my TT Tsunami Dream's side blower 92mm case fan? Anyone can help me clarify me on this? Else, probably I gotta remove the fan leaving only an empty grill there if I'm still opting for the HSF sad.gif. Perhaps other solution? unsure.gif

Why not get the smaller one, xigmatek S963?

The perfomance on par with lotsa top cooler too.

Feel like the S1283 is blocking the beauty of T2R

Planning to OC my Q6600, so opt for a better cooler to run at lower temp tongue.gif

Hehe... the beauty of the performance and benchies much more better than that laugh.gif

i think you can roughly measure the length from mobo plate to the fan and check it with the height of s1283.

Hmm... a good idea and I should do some of the "homework" hmm.gif.

Anyway, just wonder if anyone using the same casing and cooler with me can share their experience smile.gif.

BTW, how's the cooler working with ya? Happy with the temp after OCed at 3.6GHz? biggrin.gif

it's working even better after lapped.
s1283+tuniq x2 = awesome.

1.51vcore(sux vcore maybe due to cheap mobo) fulload 69C, idle 39C, ambient 29C.

Izzit advisable to do the lapping? unsure.gif Lapping on the processor will void the warranty and resell value coz some ppl doesn't prefer it and if overlapping the S1283 cooler will have problem with the DHT? unsure.gif

Then I guess a beginner and casual OCer for me doesn't need till that extreme smile.gif. Only opting to get my Q6600 up to 3.6GHz at acceptable temperature smile.gif.

i didn't lap my processor because it's retail unit, don't wanna void the 3 years warranty.
i will definitely lap it if it's OEM unit. brows.gif
the heatpipe will leak if you overlapped it. sweat.gif
but i don't think the heatpipe thickness is so thin.
i just spent 30 minutes with 1200grit and 2000grit to make it mirror finishing. rclxms.gif
