QUOTE(cschun86 @ Jan 23 2008, 03:01 AM)
tested out already,
just the damn scary vdrop of the mobo...
set 1.45V at bios,
when stress with orthos, drop till 1.38V or 1.39V only...

in term of vdrop, the biostar is better than gaygaybye,
but the biostar got fsb strap,
cant easily go higher than 400mhz...

now stressing with orthos,
tomorrow will attach the print screen...
*
yup, the vdroop problem is quite serious on this mobo... btw, what speed you're running now? brows.gif

edit: fyi, I found that pokok86's E6550 very good, can boot at 500Mhz FSB drool.gif gonna curi curi swap mine one with him tongue.gif laugh.gif

eh gsan this DK u using wat temp reader?speed fan?accurate reader?erm u got vdrop?
*
for the cpu temp, I refer to the coretemp and the rest voltage and nb/pwm temp refer to smartguardian. no vdroop in bios reading but there is 0.01~0.02v droop when come to windows depend on the vcore setting. but, the most important is NO VDROOP between idle & load. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(gsan @ Jan 5 2008, 09:39 AM)
this E6550 is based L726B batch, retail unit. and the ram is based D9GMH chipset. NB changed to NC-U6 and the S1283 installed at vertical position, original fan come with S1283 running at full speed, ~2100rpm

vcore reading:
bios set | bios reading | cpu-z reading (idle/load) | SG reading (idle/load)
1.38v | 1.38v | 1.376v/1.376v | 1.37v/1.37v  flex.gif

vdimm reading:
bios set | bios reading | SG reading (idle/load)
2.2v | 2.2v | 2.19v/2.17v  flex.gif

Good guess.
But I didn't get it because of the design. I just want a window.
Anyway, pls allow me to post some pics here.  tongue.gif
Cheap stuff for nicer look. That really made me feel I have an awesome casing.

And my setup. (Ignore the psu cables, haven't tried to hide any since I haven't sleeve them up.)
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

First result for my c2d.
3.5GHz stable. Rams did well by reaching 1000MHz with ease, didn't touch ram timings though.
Chipset temperature was so much higher than proc. Will probably need better cooling for it.
doh.gif forgot to run dual super pi. doh.gif
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Next up, I'll be trying to chase gsan's result. Time to slap on the hr07 onto naked team elites and hope my ip35-e, team elites and cm460 can stand my torture.
*
nice result here and respect for a female oc'er notworthy.gif

btw, what's the VID for your proc? can check with coretemp.... I did not try higher since the temperature reach 67'c during full load with room temperature around 34~35'c... very very hot man sweat.gif

Ace, last time u did try Q6600 or not?
mine need to pump quite high voltage to run at 3.6ghz...
wonder is wat is the voltage problem or other problem...
*
please post the coretemp screenie tongue.gif

btw, there is serious vdroop for quadcore on your DS3, that's why you need very high voltage to run it at higher speed.
