1. The minimum age is 18 yrs old.

Caveat you must be at the age of 18 years old at the date when you sign up for a securities application. i.e. If your bday is on 31st Dec 07 and you wanted to open an Securities a/c on the 1st of Jan 07 you will be considered as being 17 instead of 18.

2. You need only an IC, BE Form/Form J/3mths bank statement/3 mths pay slip -(optional) to open a Securities account.

3. Brokerages offer many types of accounts i.e.

a) Collateral based (Most Common)
- normally you will have to submit 3 mths pay slip etc...

b) Deposit
- Pay a lump sum of cash in advance

c) Letter of Undertaking from your parents.
- Means in the event that you default ur parents will be liable for your debts.
