Hello guys. Recently i read a book with the title I Love Stocks by Pauline Yong. It mentioned that that the age restriction to trade in Stock is set by the brokerages company. So my question is which brokerage company have the youngest age restriction?? I have some money to backup me in the bank but i am just seventeen. Is there any posibility to invest around this age or i had to wait till i am 18 or older??

I am thinking to join in after the recession. One more question,.... Do u guys really use fundamental analysis or technical analysis in which stock to buy. I had seen my dad and relatives not using any of this to calculate.

I think should be 21 years old to open account? Forgotten already. The age limit should be the same for every broker.

Sorry to tell that, in economy recession time, all industry are going to suffer, just the matter of degree and severity. Consumers related industry might be less affected but still it will affect them, just degree of slowdown is lesser in comsumer related industry comapred to those like industrial and construction.

The only investment tool that will shine in economy recession time is bonds.

The worst hit could be contruction during recession i think and the fastest to recover also contruction, probably banking sector as well.
When recession gov have to bring down the interest rate to revive the economic just like what US is doing now keep lowering thier interest, in this case Bonds will perform better, this always the opposite.

Welcome.

But remember playing Bursa Pursuit or virtual game in stock market and real money game is different. In Bursa Pursuit, you can afford to lose all of it, but in real money sense, it is different when it is involving real money at stake.
Earning 200% in virtual game is not big deal, one can always bang on those highly speculative stocks or CWs that can gaining 100% or 200% in weeks time, no problem to get it, as even if it goes wrong or bang the wrong one, after all the money you lose is just virtual, no harm done.
But on the other hand, if it is real money involved, do you dare to bang on 250k all you have (just like in Bursa Pursuit) which will be under risk of losing it all together in order to achieve the 200% gain as mentioned?

Earning a 20% pa in stock marke is a already quite good result in term of market average.

Just to remind that virtual game and real stock market can be a lot of differences. Don't take for granted even if one had enough experience and numbers of success in virtual game trading. When real money at stake, you emotion and decision making can be very differ from your playing experience in virtual game.

When you have or experience the first big casualty (losses) in the market then you know the pain of losing money which in virtual game can't offer you the experience of it.
Just to remind this is not a game after all, it involves hard-earned money at stake. There are people suicided and suffered because of the market, just a reminder.

Anyway, welcome to the board.

I don't concur there is recession as well, i'm just follow up elaborating cherroy's comment. One thing for sure, revive economic during recession have to bring up spending n let the money run, the easiest target is to bring down BLR to boost purchase of house, then Banking sector then the rest will come in chain. Market will then pick up again....

Yeah , of course I understand about the virtual world. In real world , I dare not enough to invest such amount of money unless I have a very good backup. My parents now letting me to control their shares , not much . But they let me to control whether buying or selling it.They don't have enough time to watch over the stocks everyday.
Bursa pursuit is kind of easy , because during that time BJcorp and BURSA are pumping up like mad.I gain lots from it , from rm9 to rm17...In real world , I did it too(rm10.20 to rm16) by selling off my mom IRIS shares from 0.235 to 0.420(Contract from Nigeria)

This piece of advice is really worth a lot.
Before using your own hard-earned money into buying shares, lots of contemplation and study need to be done.
