Heya guys,

I'm making this thread to show we are SMART-MODDING not PROS aka HARD-MODDING. (also bcoz i saw someone cool his ram using normal fan)

We dont have to be PRO, we just need to be SMART...

So, join and show that we can mod too..... but in the SMART way....... laugh.gif

Join now and we can create brilliant ideas to make our PC better and cool cool.gif .... thumbup.gif

i show mine first....

im sure alot of us here does that since the majority of us does not have the proper tools required to do some hard modding. But im pretty sure most of us put cable management in priority, no point having lots of fans cooling when your cables are distorting the air flow in the case itself.

this is mine,my casing's side panel doesnt have holes for fan,n to mod the side panel is costly too! im using 8800GT n the temperature during load is reaching 77 dgrees! to cool down the temperatures,i just simply tied a 120mm fan to the caasing chasis.n this is how it look like...

sorry coz blur image!using phone cam only notworthy.gif

it wont hurt the ram..the fan juz pushes air..so no harm..or maybe juz little vibration issue..but the tape also a vibrating damper..so..yup! doh.gif no problem

this isnt a simple yet efficient mod....but a cheapo and efficient repair thumbup.gif

heres a pic of the patient....its a cheapo wireless keyboard with integrated cursor control (aka built in mouse) this is what i use to control my HTPC. works perfectly except for 1 thing...
user posted image

see the thing in the yellow circle? thats where the KB is spoiled...theres a plastic piece under it..its BROKEN!!! vmad.gif
makes controlling the cursor friggin difficult....
user posted image

heres a pic of the broken plastic piece under the rubber
user posted image

seperating them
user posted image

picture of the plastic piece...can see that its broken
user posted image

so after opening it up....and fixing it (forgot to take pix....sorry) heres the end result...i replaced the plastic piece with something that confirm wont break... a metal screw! thumbup.gif just screw it in to the spring inside only.......the rubber piece cant be fitted in...coz the screw too long and i dont have a shorter screw.
user posted image

and finally the overall look
user posted image

repairs done....and cost is FREE!!! doesnt look too bad.... and best of all its working perfectly again thumbup.gif

this also saved me from paying more money buying a replacement thumbup.gif

nice topic.gonna try that vizo propeller mod soon, with two 12cms lol.

ok guys, lets say u wanna 'emulate' gemini lookalike (two 12cms) on a stock AMD x2 am2 hsf, whats the best way to do it?

using zalman's fan bracket kinda nice but wont reach far up there.

and talk about 'emulate' running watercooling tubes, oww come on,some fake aesthetics wont hurt. lol

my idea of sound insulating the case is by using cardboard boxes. the cardboards will somehow absorb sound waves ryte? its quite soft i think. better use one of those softer cardboards. well this is my idea. dunno if it'll be good enough or will the cardboard insulate too much heat and make the pc warmer. that i dunno laa..
