this isnt a simple yet efficient mod....but a cheapo and efficient repair
heres a pic of the patient....its a cheapo wireless keyboard with integrated cursor control (aka built in mouse) this is what i use to control my HTPC. works perfectly except for 1 thing... ![]() see the thing in the yellow circle? thats where the KB is spoiled...theres a plastic piece under it..its BROKEN!!! makes controlling the cursor friggin difficult.... ![]() heres a pic of the broken plastic piece under the rubber ![]() seperating them ![]() picture of the plastic piece...can see that its broken ![]() so after opening it up....and fixing it (forgot to take pix....sorry) heres the end result...i replaced the plastic piece with something that confirm wont break... a metal screw! ![]() and finally the overall look ![]() repairs done....and cost is FREE!!! doesnt look too bad.... and best of all its working perfectly again this also saved me from paying more money buying a replacement |

QUOTE(verz84 @ Jan 1 2008, 06:23 PM) it wont hurt the ram..the fan juz pushes air..so no harm..or maybe juz little vibration issue..but the tape also a vibrating damper..so..yup! then when u want to take out the RAM then u need to take out the fan? would it be difficult?QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jan 5 2008, 12:53 AM) this isnt a simple yet efficient mod....but a cheapo and efficient repair heres a pic of the patient....its a cheapo wireless keyboard with integrated cursor control (aka built in mouse) this is what i use to control my HTPC. works perfectly except for 1 thing... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « see the thing in the yellow circle? thats where the KB is spoiled...theres a plastic piece under it..its BROKEN!!! makes controlling the cursor friggin difficult.... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « heres a pic of the broken plastic piece under the rubber » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « seperating them » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « picture of the plastic piece...can see that its broken » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « so after opening it up....and fixing it (forgot to take pix....sorry) heres the end result...i replaced the plastic piece with something that confirm wont break... a metal screw! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « and finally the overall look » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « repairs done....and cost is FREE!!! doesnt look too bad.... and best of all its working perfectly again this also saved me from paying more money buying a replacement QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Jan 5 2008, 08:28 AM) lol......creative wor... nice topic.gonna try that vizo propeller mod soon, with two 12cms lol.
ok guys, lets say u wanna 'emulate' gemini lookalike (two 12cms) on a stock AMD x2 am2 hsf, whats the best way to do it? using zalman's fan bracket kinda nice but wont reach far up there. and talk about 'emulate' running watercooling tubes, oww come on,some fake aesthetics wont hurt. lol cheap plain cable wraps sprayed with fluorescent paint.super bright under UV This post has been edited by zyulander: Feb 14 2008, 04:28 AM |
