I'm so so so so so Fedup with Shitymyx service

whatever line I get is shitty slow and unstable

I ping www.yahoo.com and I get 500-600+ms ROFL ROFL where is should be low 200ms, wait sometimes there's REQUEST TIME OUT ><

I dont do anything on my pc expect MSN messenger, WoW and Vent.

When I call them and complaint, they said it's normal and ask me to check that F*** up Bandwith test, and that shit test always shows the same results.

I told them connection to outside of country super slow, they said oversea ma, so sure slow

And I tell them WTF point I get internet if not connecting to oversea, as if Malaysia have any good? Besides www.malaysiakini.com.my

And today their system down, they cant check my details, LOL Hello Malaysia Welcome to 20 years ago

Reset port? Yea right lol, rest their own M***** F***** own port A**

I have LP, but LP is doing as much as letting me have 500-600ms ... and I got used to low 300ms and my arena performance skyrocketed. Now it's just fustrating. I even got nicknamed by my teammates "Jekyll and Hyde"

Is there any alternative besides Shitymyx? ppl told me no difference at all even with Maxis

Bla Bla Bla... I done my Ranting here... MONOPOLY FTL!!!

FYI, Malaysia still has Copper Cable LOL, and copper cable no longer in production, so I wonder maybe Shitymyx get their cable from Uganda or something. That's like WWII cable lol

If there is an Aldor Rise in RL, I would SPARTAN KICK THOSE MUTHA FARKER from there.

Malaysia Boleh LOL my ass!!

The speed they mention in their ads is local speed.....
try reconnect to different IP and check the ping untill you know which IP is
the best for your location......

Actually, the VMware+Linux fix PROVES that the problem is NOT necessarily TMnet.

I used to have 1k pings too, but once i setup the fix, ping drop to 300-350ms constant+very stable. Any IP address, any time of the day, rain or shine.

Therefore, if you want to blame someone, blame Blizzard for releasing a product that is not friendly for overseas users (US users will not notice the bug in the application, because their geographical location will provide, by default, good pings).

So i used to rant at Streamyx too, and all my guildies as well. But not anymore. We know who the real culprit is.

You can find the VMware+Linux fix here.

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/588237

Nitrofang, <LoTH> GM, has also written a very very detailed 49 page step-by-step guide to set up the solution yourself. You may speak to him to request a PDF copy of the guide.

thing is that many people has gotten 300-500 ms before without lowerping or vmware linux or registry fix. its only recently when tmnut is facing some kinda degration or w/e to their networks everyone around malaysia is having ping/lag issues.

so you cannot entirely blame blizzard either.

what about Lowerping?

because how good can LP get also depends on how streamyx perform too

VMWare+Linux can do the job completely? means even tho streamyx perform badly?

actually no, lowerping/registry fix/vmware + linux ONLY reduces your latency aproximately around 40-50%. so if ur tmnut screamyx is lagging at 2-3k ms, DO NOT expect miracles to get 200-300 ms in WoW.

ive already tested and confirmed with the crappiest possible IP's and the best IPs, even people from australia/singapore. the reduction is only aprox 40-50%.

eg: 1k ms ping you get aprox 500ish ms ping
for 500ms ping you get aprox 250 ms ping

yes and no. they share the same network architecture, but lowerping also has dedicated VPN routes to the US. draw back? not free and you have a risk of getting banned due to ip changes.

I'm sorry, let me rephrase my question

Does the latency reduction from LP service have the EXACT same results or close to doing the VMWare+Linux?

Lowerping runs their proxy server off a datacentre hence the reason why they achieve much better ping as compared to a direct connection from your home broadband.

Irrespective of what LP does, your final ping is ultimately affected by how Streamyx (or whatever other ISP you're on) is performing.

I'm quite anxious to see how Blizzard's attempt at disabling Nagle's Algorithm will affect overseas connection since on paper it should technically fix our "problem".

on densed area in KL/high profile areas perhaps, but theres still a lot of places (eg: my house) with crappy copper lines, and worse yet, faulty/aging ones. like the backbone connecting to my house, tmnut engineers also confirmed that its faulty, but they arent replacing it just for me, ggmuch.

as such, i suffer from DSL signal loss time to time, but thank god for linux route. Before using this i am GUARANTEED to dc. but right now, AFTER SO MANY signal losses, i only dc'ed TWICE! (per day AT LEAST 1-2 times signal loss at random)

that saved me a TON of un-nessesary arena rating losses, as you may already know, i only gain 1-5 rating per game, and per loss is 20-30 ratings up the ass.

screenshot as requested by king83 and aaltong. sorry if it is too small. i try to squeeze everything in one window. usually i would torrent on one machine, video streaming on a 2nd machine, and wow on my laptop. but for showing the latency that i get which runs all the application simultaneously, i try to run and fit in everything on one machine. i screenshot everything as soon as i come back from office. around 6pm time. shows you 4 window. my streamix IP, the streaming video which my sis always watch. sorry it wasn't anime, but it was Japanese drama. also show you the warcraft screen (the latency is at the top right corner), and torrent. unfortunately i cant proof to u that the Japanese drama is actually streaming and not some static video. all i can say is that the streaming video is actually streaming without any lag.

1st screenshot.
time = 6pm.
wow = 270ms. (looks like its lower than what i told previously which is 350ms at peak time)
torrent = download 26KBps/upload 11KBps. (ok ok i told you i always get 40KBps, looks like it yoyo between 25 KBPS to 40KBps)
streaming = High Kick episode 4.

Attached Image

2nd screenshot.
time = 6.05 pm.
wow = 266ms. (very stable eh)
torrent = download 30 KBps/upload 11KBps. (very unstable, but still, its lingers around 30KBps)
streaming = High Kick episode 4.

Attached Image

3rd screenshot.
time = 6.11 pm.
wow = 266ms. (wow it didnt move)
torrent = download 28 KBps/upload 11KBps. (hmm looks like it stays around here)
streaming = High Kick episode 4.

Attached Image

4th screenshot.
time = 6.13 pm.
wow = 260ms. (nice!)
torrent = download 45.5 KBps/upload 11KBps. (yikes! suddenly fast)
streaming = Legend of Guan Gong Episode 3. (Change movie)

Attached Image

5th screenshot.
time = 6.15 pm.
wow = 260ms. (hmm. i wish its faster)
torrent = download 37 KBps/upload 12KBps. (play2 around there already)
streaming = Legend of Guan Gong Episode 3. (is this japanese or chinese soap opera?)

Attached Image

i will try to ss everything again after midnight and see if it is faster smile.gif

disclaimer: lowerping and registry hack not use.

I completely agree here. A lot of the problem that Malaysia has, is with attitude. Its not easy for the government to change a people's mindset, but when the govt itself refuses to even acknowledge there is a mindset problem, then forget it, its just not going to work.

Oh and it isn't actually Blizzard's fault for the bad connection oceanic players suffer. Nagle's algorithm is a very important backbone to when the internet was growing and is still needed today. It is however, their fault that they did not realize that their game takes so little bandwidth that it is basically useless. To the credit of their network programmer however, it is not something people would normally consider.

To the OP: If you are experiencing bad pings to even www.yahoo.com, try to ping your gateway. I find that often, even my gateway has pings of 500-700+ms. If you get that, it is definitely on TMnet's end. Really not sure what causes them so much problems.

Switch to my laptop and my previous FPS issues went away. M1210 Dell laptop that isn't as powerful as my desktop. Now Shattrath is at 40 fps from 14 fps and SSC/TK went from 1-3 FPS to about 30-40 fps.

And streamyx connection now very stable after they gave me a better IP. This was after 4-5 days of phonecalls and waiting. And literally tantrum a wee bit.

Now reinstalling WoW.

Postnote : no registry fix or using VM Server. Using Vista though.

It's a bit more than that. Speaking to a tech that was troubleshooting my frequent disconnections in December.
  • Some of the IPs are known to be bad. The most they do is put you to another IP that is "healthy". But once you disconnect from them, you might end up on an IP that is not healthy.
  • They also mention that the distance between your house to their nearest "exchange" (can't remember what they mention. Something about Remote Access Terminal or Exchange) will affect your connectivity. When I ask if I could upgrade from 512kbps package to 1Mbps package, they said that the terminal is far i.e. 4-5 KM that there will be packets loss. That they would have to check and see if there is a dedicated port available before they do this. Houses that are nearer to their Exchange will be better i.e. 1-2 KM distance. This info is not available to the public though and not even the helpdesk knows this. Only the local techs seem to know from what I see so far.

let's c...
i'm from the telecom field,but workin further south across the sea...

copper wire aka adsl can actually support up to 10M here.
but it's TM whose backend lacks the brain to do it.
cos it's a monopoly market in m'sia
so they can heck care...

here....optic fibre is not roll-out island-wide,...
if u r talkin abt starh*b,they r on cable, but,it's a shared media.
eg the pipe is 10M, if 10 person use and their paid subscription is more than 10M, the pipe will surely b congested if the ppl r runnin p2p programs.
online gamin like cabal,grandchase actually uses veri low bandwidth.
if u dun believe mi, try install a program call netpsec to check the bandwidth receiving n sending.
but going overseas, the latency is there, especially if the international pipe tat TM has,...well...is small in terms of capacity.

in a nutshell, only one ip is working fine, but this ip, many sites cant load, even the usual ventrilo that i use. so what i do, is i use my vpn proxy for websites (which is quite a hassle when im torrenting as it has a connection/peer limit doh.gif doh.gif ) and use another ventrilo (as im too lazy to configure proxy for it atm

SO what are we gonna do about it? Get a petition signed to our information minister? Of course if we want to do this it would be a VERY good idea to get actual professional information and also assistance from Telecommunication specialist regarding how it works or rather how ADSL supposed to work.

Like our brother down south mentioned copper cables can support up to 10Mb connection and that its TMnut's backbone that's the problem. Perhaps he could shed some light for us? prepare some sort of hard evidence that we can submit together with a petition to our information minister to open up the market to other ISP's instead of Screamyx monopolising the whole thing. Since it's already proven that they themselves can support the whole country anyways.

problem is, i believe multiple petitions, even newspaper reportings regarding tmnut's misdoings. the huge irony? the government ADMIT that they are AWARE of these issues on some newspaper or was it tv news, but are they doing anything to remedy the problem? as far as what we're experiencing, im gonna say no.

Right on where the money is. When i read it the first time, i was like "What? So you guys know about the problem, but choose not to do anything to remedy the problem?". Nice way to govern a country.

60.48
60.49
219.95

same situation as me, a lot of web/vent cant be connected but its the ONLY WoW IP that can go 200-400 ms ping.

i basically use vpn proxy for web and use another ventrilo server that i can connect.

Vent on Darkstar servers went a bit wonky for me but after that ok.

WoW latency was at 600-700 ms even with Gamepath when usually it's 400-500 ms. Maybe just that one night thing?

124.82.* is stable except for the 124.82.1* which may have lag. 60.53.* is not bad either.

But depends on what u can connect to in your area.

I don't think so. It's more likely on streamyx side.

Last nite was strange. 6 - 11 pm latency was like 800-1000ms. After that, drop to 400-500 ms. And I didn't even chance connections.

Earlier tonight connection's gone all bad. I don't think it's a cable problem, i could be wrong.. but locally, and internationally, I'm affected.

My bet? Some stupid 'throttling' equipment of theirs gone bad. Why?

Getting data from tunneled sources or weird funky ports? No problemo, I'm able to get full speed streaming videos like drhorrible.com, which video comes in at weird port numbers.. (great musical from Joss Whedon starring 'The Guild's felicia day btw).. but surfing the web?? be it international or local? I'm screwed....

if it's going to be like this from now on.. GG for WoW.

(good thing I have a tunnel to a server somewhere! I'm enjoying my WoW still hehehe - which I don't see any locals in my realm lol..)

well, at least today the line has recovered...

but still f@#$ up, until i'm doing IP hunting again...

my previous winrar IP (60.51.x.x) which served me a very good ping time around 200-300ms in game... (pinging google/yahoo @ 250ms average)

as for today, with the same IP... in game @ 600-1k depends... (even tho, pinging google/yahoo @ 250ms as well)

so, i decided to hunt some diff IP to see any imp as for current state...

yet, i found one lolIP (60.50.x.x) which never ever consider as a real good IP served me around 400ms+/- in game (pinging google/yahoo @ 360ms average)

all i can say this is crazy f@#$king up ISP which is the worst in the universe where by having bad ping time on certain websites but manage to play WoW w/o serious bad lag than yesterday...

anyway "gee gee" to boleh belah tmnut the $h1ttymix, coz 400ms is still not fully recovered & i suppose to get around 200-300ms...

all i can say this is crazy f@#$king up ISP which is the worst in the universe where by having bad ping time on certain websites but manage to play WoW w/o serious bad lag than yesterday...

anyway "gee gee" to boleh belah tmnut the $h1ttymix, coz 400ms is still not fully recovered & i suppose to get around 200-300ms...
*
they arent the worst isp in the world but the attitude their taking sure as hell make them closely the worst.

especially with the "we know we suck, but we aint doin nothin to fix it" announcement (by government too btw)

lol think it doesnt matter when its him wink.gif

and to update, yesterday night until 3:45AM lag is still homosexual, however is on the low 600-700 compared to the high 700-1k

this morning, 8AM wow ping at 400-500. looks like traffic's been diverted/congestion relieving.

hopefully after office hour it'll be greenlit with 200-300 ms again smile.gif

If can come down to 400-500 ms, I'd already be happy.

TMNet forgot to pay the bill ah?

ever since the saturday 7pm cut... the net was kinda okay at 300-400ms for me.. i didn't experience the 800-1k ping on sunday or even monday. but the problem is it is spiky... every few min it will spike and stall for few sec before resuming... try all the ip subnet still the same.. but yesterday night the spike seems to get lesser... pray pray..

After give RM20 'Ang Pao' x2 + 1 Coke and 1 Yeo's Fruit Juice to the TM Streamyx Technicians .....

They help me to plug in my network to a so called 'special port'.

My IP always start from 125.xxx.xxx.xxx

My WoW latency drop from 1.5k to constant <300ms [always GREEN !!!]

From 27 June 2008 till now, highest latency is 360ms, usually 260-290ms, lowest 185ms ....

Cann't play WoW with high latency?
Forgot about IP hunting.... and no more back door to set your system registry please ...

Just follow below procedure biggrin.gif
1. Call 100, tell the helpdesk said your network so slow, extreme high latency, you cann't do video streaming, you're NOT using P2P software and YOU CANN'T PLAY ONLINE GAME AT ALL !!! Request them to reset your port, and you had try all their standard operating procedure [i.e. flush your IE, direct connection, you had throw away your DSL spliter, turn off firewall, do antivirus scan.... all these crab blablabla].
2. The next day mid night, call 100 again, tell them it's midnight now, the traffic should be very smooth, but your latency still sky high, request them to send technician to check your network.
3. When the technician visit you, please don't tell them your network super lag or high latency ... B'COS THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEAN, THEY MAY THINK YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT YOUR NETWORK BANDWIDTH OR SOMETHING ELSE, JUST TELL THEM NETWORK SLOW lol, ask them is there any 'Special port' available [they don't call it TM Direct port, they name it special port internally, only God knows why].
4. After that you know what you should do LOL ....

Plus : Don't waist your time to report to ACA, cus ACA staffs using that port to play WoW too, they understand your problem and feeling.
