QUOTE(sunauto @ Jan 24 2008, 08:03 PM) That's true, it doesn't look normal to me, a hp is not like a pc, it doesn't to restart by itself. Hopefully, it's just a bug that can be fixed with future firmwares. Guess, I'll be giving this phone a miss first until it's more stable later on. Huiyo don't wait liao lo N82 AP set now only RM16xx even original set also price dropped retail only RM2399, damn cheap to buy if you ask me. ...If you have digi cam, maybe different story... |

QUOTE(gigohlo @ Jan 26 2008, 12:36 AM) one quick question.. what if im updating my phone and halfway my internet connection lost (u know tmnut la).. phone corrupted? Updater will only proceed once the full file is received. It won't update while still downloading file. So when it's starting to update, internet putus also no problem. But if power putus, there you go, N82 brick. |

QUOTE(aero @ Jan 30 2008, 02:16 PM) Not sure, later will go to phone shop to check it out. But I look in the youtube bout htc touch, it seem like using hand is easy to use. By the way, pigcat, you considerin buying n95 or n82? I bought N95 8GB already...But if I haven't own any phone between both yet, I MIGHT wait for a little longer for N95 form factor + xenon flash, maybe will straight away buy N95 8GB if cannot wait... |

QUOTE(cheeleong @ Jan 31 2008, 11:04 AM) Yes.. I did check... but it only can be spotted in a dark room.. Dead pixel = shows black spot under white colour screen, means dead liao cannot lite upDidn't notice it when i was buying it... Can it really be DEAD pixels? cos it is still showing lights in white background.. i thought dead pixels wont give any lights at all? Stuck pixel/hot pixel = shows either white/green/blue/red permenant and will be visible in full dark screen. Dead pixel cannot be cure, but stuck pixel you can download the "PSP hot pixel fix video". Basically the video just consistantly flipping between white/green/blue/red full screen to sort of kick start the pixel, like what you want to do with running nose. |

QUOTE(cheeleong @ Feb 1 2008, 01:07 AM) now.. you guys tell me is this video laggy or not.. or i'm just expecting too much from this phone? My N95 8GB is doing the same thing, it's not very smooth and it looks like those old LCD which has low respond rate. Video shooting with 5MP family has no match with Viewty, sad but true. But definitely not lag until audio out of sync.i spotted the lag around 0:15 to 0:16 sec of the video while playing using computer.. the lag is more obvious when i'm turning the camera slowly.. if i play this video on my phone, more lag here and there.. u can try to put this video into your phone. Keep your shiny xenon flash lar, don't waste too much money on electronic gadgets. |

Between N82 or N95 (classic), there's virtually no reason to not get N82, although screen smaller but there're quite a lot of things better than N95.
If you really want N95, get the 8GB version, big screen is good... |

QUOTE(NewKid @ Feb 1 2008, 09:52 PM) I tot candybar phone was designed dunno how many years ago...? Forget about smartmovie, use coreplayer. There're some xvid that i absolutely can't play it on smartmovie and coreplayer is the only one can play. Also, if you have those left side cantonese right side japanese type of video clips, coreplayer is the only one that can choose to play only left channel or right channel, like those VCD players. Ancient technology? Well well, you'll never know when you'll need it... Also I would like to point out that tzethye was absolutely correct, best player is still the built in player. Try convert some high quality video clip and play on both smartmovie and realplayer then you'll know. Realplayer is the only player that make full use of the processors. Sadly it can only support so little formats... This post has been edited by pigcat: Feb 1 2008, 10:37 PM |

QUOTE(pigcat @ Feb 1 2008, 10:58 PM) I did try convert VGA and QVGA and play them on my N95 8GB, it's a lot clearer with VGA resolution. I can't explain why, just clearer. I think I figure out the reason. The concept more or less the same as 5megapixel photo resize to 1600x1200 vs a 2megapixel photo with original untouched 1600x1200 resolution. |

QUOTE(cheeleong @ Feb 3 2008, 09:49 PM) Hi guys.. I'm seriously worried that Nokia got really bad batch of LCD screen recently. During the launch of N95 8GB I never heard people complain about bad pixels on LCD, and then N82, hearing quite some people said they got bad pixel LCD screen here and over hardwarezone.Sadly.. I returned my N82 (with some stuck/hot pixels; only 4 days old without any phone call made) to the hand phone shop in Low Yatt. They agreed to exchange with new N82 once they got stock; yet they keep telling me no stock. They also mentioned after CNY they can't exchange already and I must claim warranty. Made me so no mood to this baby. I felt like being cheated... but it's my fault as well.. never really checked for dead pixels when i bought the phone. Heck.. it is really hard to check when most of the store are bright! I was thinking of getting N95 8GB from them since they no stock for N82, so i tested the N95 8GB carefully and checked for dead pixels this time. Guess what? There is also 2 dead pixels on the N95 8GB screen!!! In the end, I agreed to trade in my N82 for them and rugi 100 bucks For the best way to check for dead pixels, create a 320*240 JPEG filled with Black color with MS Paint and save it in your old phone and transfer this pic using bluetooth to the new phone and check with it. (if you have a bluetooth phone) CNY coming already.. i suggest you guys stop buying phone. No stock and the current stock might not be in good condition. The price is sky high as well.. Hope my sad experience helps... On the other hand it's worth to check out hot pixels in your sensor as well although it's not that important. For example my N95 8GB has 2 green hot pixel (one being brighter than the other) on every photo of ISO-800 on the upper left corner. Doesn't bug me as I rarely take night photos and for 5MP pictures they'll even gone even when resize to 3MP size (however they'll probably NOT disappear when you trying to print them on paper). There's one user at hardwarezone that eventually live with 1 stuck pixel on LCD and 2 white stuck pixel on camera sensor... |
