You bought ori or AP? Mine is AP, as soon as i insert my simcard it automactically creates all maxis acces points. wap gprs and 3G.

Why not from the list u try using N95 settings. should be same.

u can use nokia software for that. it can be use as 3.5G modem

Downside is, the phone won't charge off by connecting to USB (same with all range of Nseries), and battery will very fast kong if continously charge with travel charger. If course if light use then OK la.

But still, if can charge via USB, then can basically use laptop to online anywhere liao with laptop on battery. When will Nokia make this a standard?

Apparently its some settings used by other providers which maxis does not support. Dont ask me wat as im oso blur.   Anyway problem solved.

Just tried the Garmin Xt and it worked flawlessly. But after a couple of minutes use my phone did a soft reset. Anyone experienced that before? Not a big deal but jus want to know. Anyway this phone Roxxx man. Over and out.

You should be able to upgrade your firmware via the net, using Nokia Software Updater.

Nokia has a CA-100 charger where u can plug in the USB port on PC/Laptop and the other end to the charger port of your N82.  No USB to USB charger though as the phone doesnt support it. , try ebay, search for "Nokia CA-100 N82" and sort out by price+shipment=lowest

I have bought from ebay few days back, still waiting for it to arrive. I cant find in lelong or in normal shop, Nokia center might have it but i never check and if even they have, you know it won't be cheap, what if we do a bulk at eBay especially for N82 owner or any LYN who would like to buy this, at least from seller from Hong Kong and with combine shipping. i will confirm the pricing first

Hi I've just got my AP set from renee for 1850 with 18 months warranty and 12 months lcd warranty

Im having trouble installing FExplorer beta version, unsigned or something.

And Im having trouble with GarminXT... can't see the name of the places, i mean my house is at Jalan ABC, it only shows "A , J". And now waiting for the unlock codes from antyong. I've got the codes for 2.14 coz i use it on my pda, n now waiting for a new one

I just got a unit of N82 but not able to configure the setting for Maxis for 3G/GPRS.  I downloaded the setting like N73/N95 from www.maxis.com.my but still do not work.  Any ideas?

hmm...for me sometimes the SMS gt some bug when using the Copy and Paste function...i dunno how to explain the problem bt it seems to nt response to any alphabet keys u press once u copy something...(sometimes)

yeah... very stupid of this indeed... you've to close and save the msg in draft and later reopen it again or go straight to standby menu and come back again...

Yes, thats what i have seen, it is said that the incoming firmware update will fix that bug. But luckily i rarely used the # button copy paste function on the SMS editor.

Tested that again, there is other option to copy/paste message in SMS editor. Quiet complicated, i rather type the whole word instead. Try to follow this sequence

Open text editor --> Type in message --> Press Option --> Editing Option --> Copy (now the abc on the top bar is shaded) -->  Move cursor to the end or begining of the text that you would like to copy --> start --> move the "5 way scroll key" to copy the text --> Option --> Editing Option --> Copy

anybody can recommend a nice screen protector for N82?  I want one that covers the front camera as well, like the one that came default when we first buy the phone.

I heard about Martin Fields, but it is so expensive, any other alternatives??  HP shops also don't even stock screen protectors for the N82 yet!!!

I have successfully installed garmin mobile xt. however, another problem occured. When i try to run the appliation, 1stly, the application will scan for GPS device. Then, when it din find any GPS device, an message stated that no GPS device has been found & exit the garmin application. Can anyone help me on this? TQ

After buying Martin Fields from Dooml in SIngapore, I went to my regular phone shop in SS2 to request them to fix in on my N82. Then only they informed me that later they'll be selling cheaper and better quality screen protector than Martin Fields. As to the "better quality than Martin Fields" this is yet to prove. Anyway, when they are available, will post them here.

Finally somebody bringing in this superb product. Everyone is talking about MFSP which really puzzle me since there's even better product out there.

I'll report back when I receive the protector and give a short review or something.

Bad news for myself ... bought my n82 3 days ago ... then, found out tat there's problem with the board, need to send back to service centre to change a new board. Hai .... come on lah! If this is a AP, then understood lol .... but this is Orig set woh ....! Damn "sui" luck lah!!

    * Provide a Vehicle setting within Settings->Map to support the downloadable Garmin vehicles.
    * Provide Afrikaans voice support.
    * Improve the Bluetooth connection process for the GPS receiver.
    * Correct the voice selection in the startup page.
    * Correct the search capability to find Contacts and My Locations using lowercase letters.
    * Correct a GPX import failure when the route or track name is long.
    * Correct the Save to Contacts from My Locations to save the location also.
    * Correct the display of a POI position for countries that use comma as a decimal separator.
    * Correct the POI count in the POI list page.

No need to uninstall.

Just put the memory card into your phone. Follow the installer's steps

Then, plug the memory card back into your phone

Run the <MCard>\Garmin\Apps\Symbian\res\GarminMobileXT.SIS again. That's it

Yes, that was the code i gave to them , however i have 9 digit instead of 10..i think it should be fine, just let the mapper know that you indeed have only 8 digits and not 10. otherwise he might thought that you have missed out a digit or two.
