For those who has got Garmin to work. Try to contribute to get the latest unlock key for the map

The latest map has quite a lot of update

The reason why you cannot access the page is because the admin has not acknowledge you as a contributer

Steps to getting the lastest All-In-One Map and Unlock key for Garmin Mobile XT

1) Go to Malsingmaps and register your account

2) Easiest way to contribute: Find at least 2 POI (eg. Bank, Petrol Station, School, Good Restaurant, 7-11, etc etc)

3) To get the POI location. Run Garmin -> Tools -> Where am I -> Copy down Current location (eg. N03 0.162 E101 32.401)

4) Go to this section of forum Tracks, Waypoints & Feedbacks. From here select which region (eg. KL-R) and post your POI

5) Once you have posted your POI, copy down the link to your post and PM it to the mapper in charge. They are Jerome for Singapore/Johor, Wsian for Melaka/N Sembilan, Dynamix for Perak/Penang/Kedah/Perlis, Antyong for KL/Selangor/Pahang/Terengganu/Kelantan and BernGPS for East Malaysia. Don't PM to every mapper because they will get pissed and will ignore your request

6) The PM title should be your Card-ID. And the content should be the direct link to your post

7) From there, you have to wait. Give them 2 days. If by 2 days they don't respond, send them the same message again as reminder

8) They will then PM you with 2 Unlock code and allow you to download the latest map from here Malsing Maps 2.15 (Locked). After download, run the installer and paste the 2 unlock code

9) Copy the latest GMAPSUPP.IMG into your <MCard>\Garmin\

And you are done

Yes, you need to sign the FExplorer fist b4 you can use it. Google on how to sign files. There are a lot of guides out there already. There is also guide in FExplorer site on how to sign it

For your garmin, you have downloaded the wrong map. Use this Jun07 Open edition for Garmin Mobile XT instead. Here you go:-

If not mistaken so far only June and Dec version working on Garmin Mobile XT. I couldn't find anything in between that is working without the abbreviation problem

Yes, I encountered the same problem during heavy rain. Around 15minutes no satellite lock

I think there should be a lot of change in Malsing Maps since the file size has increase quite a bit
June07 = 21,813KB
Dec07 = 25,368KB

I didn't test much on June07, but I've noticed that June doesn't have Citibank Damansara where Dec has it

Changes made from version 4.10.40 to 4.10.60:

* Provide the latest Garmin splash screen and associated copyright text.
* Provide a Vehicle setting within Settings->Map to support the downloadable Garmin vehicles.
* Provide Afrikaans voice support.
* Improve the Bluetooth connection process for the GPS receiver.
* Correct the voice selection in the startup page.
* Correct the search capability to find Contacts and My Locations using lowercase letters.
* Correct a GPX import failure when the route or track name is long.
* Correct the Save to Contacts from My Locations to save the location also.
* Correct the display of a POI position for countries that use comma as a decimal separator.
* Correct the POI count in the POI list page.

No need to uninstall.

Just put the memory card into your phone. Follow the installer's steps

Then, plug the memory card back into your phone

Run the <MCard>\Garmin\Apps\Symbian\res\GarminMobileXT.SIS again. That's it

Cause when it is fresh after hard reset, the # issue won't happen

When you sell off, whether is is super brand new or with scratches, the price diff is not going to be much. Maybe around RM50 to RM100 diff

So i've given up in taking good care of my phone, it is not like I use the phone for very long. I usually change phone once a year

Yes I have the problem. My right menu button has some chipping due to use of finger nail when pressing on that button

Basically, you just need to find the file and set it to hidden

Yes, but no new firmware yet for Malaysia version

Better don't delete cause it's the program's image file. Just set the file to hidden and it will no longer show in gallery
