so far(as of this morning 4 am) i could only play my music files in my documents, view the names of the videos doh.gif .

Finish setting up the Home media network on both my laptop & N82.

First of all its cool, I can play media to or from N82/laptop or wise versa, works like a remote control for example, I can select files to play on N82 or run it in the Laptop. There is a problem for Video and it seems only mp4 file is supported, so if the ori file is .avi file it will prompt in N82 "not supported", I use another application (called Free video to Ipod converted) to convert avi to mp4 then solve the prob already.

2nd Another prob I found is that when I browse media content in N82 from laptop via the Home Media Server, it shows no files detected, do you encounter the same prob? I also try from N82 galery > select a picture > Options > show via home network > Select Device shows nothing... hmm strange hmm.gif

i find it sometimes is too bright for that distance, especially when taking pics of my cat/dogs..
but it beats using a normal cam, though laugh.gif not as bright thumbup.gif
how do you play your n82 files on your laptop?
i tried, but can only "open media player" (from network options in vista)
blink.gif how does it work?
if the phone hangs up,can you still pop out the battery?

i bought a crystal casing for my n82,and my phone hung up...tried to open the thing, ended up cracking it doh.gif piece of crap doh.gif

here's a video file taken with the n82,maybe the TS can add it to the first page in case someone asks for a sample.
short video,but 10 megs sweat.gif

The Home Media Server supposed to act as a file sharing system. It supposed to be able to detect the media content in N82 and play in the laptop (control from laptop), but its not working. I can play media files from N82 in laptop (control from the phone)

Share as in, accessing from My Network Places -> Entire Network -> MSHome ?
*
Hey just an update. I manage to get my laptop to detect the media files in N82 as some reconfiguration step.

Anyway to answer your question of share:-

From N82 : From Menu > Tools > Connect > Hom.med > Browse Home (you can browse all connected device in your home network like laptops, printers for sharing)

From PC : Open the Home Media Server > Devices > Shows the connected N82

a little confusing here...
just to be sure, what os are you guys using? xp,vista, linux or mac? (home media users,i mean)
*
I am using XP. I guess you are right, I can't play the N82 from My Laptop using the the Home Media Server . But from N82 I can play media files from N82 to Laptop (what I mean is that the content is in the N82 but play in laptop) or play media files from Laptop on N82 / Laptop (acts like a remote control)

eh, are you using nokia PC suite to connect to the phone or something?
*
Not Nokia PC Suite to be exact but Home Media Server. Itsis part of Nokia PC suite, but its a hosting server by itself. The connection medium is through LAN WiFi. So when you play your files its LAN WiFi speed! rclxms.gif Try it, its cool... but somehow the Home Media server is not free, its only have 30 days free trial... hmm.gif

Hey neighbour you stay in Bandar S'Sara? Me too...

The one which is not free is Home Media Server Premium, its a 30 days trial. Its feature includes Video Transcoding, it can convert any media file to be played in Nseries/and etc device such as PSP, ipod, xbox...

Why debate over N82 quality? Who says N82 camera is bad? To me its a very decent camera. Anyway attached some pics I taken in HK/Macau last month using N82. Btw... comparing N82 vs my 4 year old Canon IXUS 430 is no way the canon can beat the N82 on night shots... I can't manage to get the same effect as in N82, but my gf's Sony cybershot camera with carl zeiss optics is much nicer in detail than N82. So I am very comfortable to have N82 to take pics anytime I want and I know I can have a decent shots anytime rclxms.gif

Actually my camera skillz is not that good, just select the best ones I took smile.gif Just the scenery is ideal for the shot icon_idea.gif The night shots really need a steady hand, or use 2sec timer to have a more steady shot.

Wanna buy this phone but still doubt on the GPS function receiving delay. User out there, can advised?
*
No problem at all. Depending on the weather you can get a satelite lock within few seconds to 5 minutes, its my personal experience though.

Btw, after the firmware upgrade I don't experience hangging issues with the phone now. Anyone notice this?

well yeah, the only difference is that he is not wearing a omega tongue.gif he is wearing a Panerai Luminor. Quite a young guy just late 30s. The previous CEO Morten Lundal who has brought DiGi to what it is today is also about the same age like him. The pic is taken at DiGi HQ D'House subang hi tech, this week where they introduce the new CEO

Great phone still dunno which to go AP or original. Different is huge around 700+. Plan get the AP one but my friend say Nokia symbian dun get AP, later warranty trouble, software crash need reformat or wad go back shop charge exp... many problem on AP set

Izzit truth?
*
I think software its the same for AP/Ori, you can update the latest firmware yourself though. I did and found that N82 doesn't crash/hang anymore. For warantty of hardware defect, I think Ori will be better. If you have the budget then go for Ori > peace of mind

Just my 2 cents

honestly saying we cannot depend on the GPS 100% sometimes u gotta use ur own brain.

sometimes my GPS when driving to certain point it will do some recalculating again even when i drive according to the earlier instruction generated by it.
i guess even GPS got confused by klang valley roads.
*
Yes, but using Nokia Maps I never encountered these problem and its much accurate when it comes to positioning, more accurate than Malsing. But u need to pay for the Navigation la. Map detail wise still Malsing is better.

yes it working perfectly fyi..smile.gif
erm..So far so good, software phone will crash if you keep on pump in data and never do clean up. If it does, soft format or hard format will solve most of the problem...you can upgrade ur firmware urself as well mar..if hardware problem then sure u will need take back for warranty la.. sweat.gif  (*touch wood)laugh.gif
*
Ohh really? are you based in HQ? Did you check out the explorer hub there? brows.gif may I ask you which GPS you prefer? Nokia Maps or Garmin? Pay or no pay? U know what I mean using Nokia map you need to pay but will be charged as VAS (Value Added Service SMS) For me I trust nokia maps navigation more. After all we don't care of the VAS charges as long as its under the budget rite tongue.gif

Btw, whats you mean by clean up? Is there any tool for doing that? I can see my phone internal memory is growing slowly everyday.
