I have a 17 inch flat CRT. Brand is LG. Model : T710SH

The monitor would turn yellow colour at times. Its like somebody applied a yellow colour tint on the screen.

I've already checked and confirmed that its the CRT problem.
I've changed graphics card, used it on another pc, changed the power cable, and yet the problem still persist.

And I've found a temporary soluton to this, if I give the CRT a gentle nudge on the left side, the screen will turn back to normal.
(I've heard of this solution from somewhere else long time ago, but I cant remember where)
But in another 30 minutes or so, the problem comes back.

I doubted the VGA connection port, but after testing it, i dont think the problem comes from there.
I've tried to replug the connection, move the cable a bit, and even 'massage' the cable, but the problem still stayed.

Warranty is long over. This monitor is three years old.

Have anyone experienced this before?

P.S. - Please do not suggest me to buy a new monitor. Let me try to solve this first.

yup...its time to change...
most monitor dies rite after the warranty period...zzz...my samsung 17" also same...
jz after warranty period awhile, then died...

After u gave the monitor a nudge, did the problem came back afterwards?

biase la old monitor ma.. the prob will come back after 2 or 3 weeks.. i ketuk balik n then ok.. nothings serious with my monitor just turn in unwanted color sometimes..

but i prefer u to repair ur monitor if ur problem comes again n again..

dun wan to buy LCD? so cheap la today..

better just send to sum tv repair shop, as i also get my samsung crt fixed at around RM130 for my screen autoshrink once on the power.

Same problem with mine before.Become normal after I hit it.Cost me RM80 to repair.

send to tv repair shops and ask for a quotation. old tv and crt are basically the same.

just buy a 2nd hand 17 inch cost around 100 only

Try giving your monitor a firm but gentle nudge on the sides.
Tell us what is the outcome,

get the quotation, then if the service price is reasonable, fix it..
if its not, then try to sell it as faulty monitor to the shop, then save the money for new monitor..

both of u having RGB problem, for TS one, u mean u nudge can get it back normal rite? i think tat is dry joint, mean just loose inside, just give techniction do will ok, but make sure they dint say anything spoilt, cause just something loose inside,..
but for cobra, i think urs could might change some part inside, from light(small capacitor) to serious(ur tube) must be change which buy new 1 is better

depend, if just small IC or switch, might cost u 50 buck, if tube.. gg alraedy, take ur monitor throw out from windows

haha lolx....same with me , at the beginning will turn to green and if knock might return normal back. but after that however u knock , it still green.....times to change mon =.=!!

wat? when watching movie only? u sure? when surf net, u try knock ur monitor see, if just movie only, mean not monitor fault

turns red when watching movie only? maybe u need to used latest codec update..

so swhung.. cannot resolve ka ur monitor? have try my method? rite now my monitor still dun show any sign of turning onto others colors..

maybe u should turn off monitor when not in use.. i always do like tat.. i don like my monitor on 24 a day.. if my cpu its ok but if my monitor.. canot on 24 hr da.. old monitor la katakan..

i dont on my monitor 24 hrs, only about 10 hrs a day.

and ive tried to give it a nudge, it solves the prob temporarily,
but after 30 mins, the problem comes back.

Most probably caused by... "COLD SOLDER JOINT".
