no need me do la , i'm still a newbie in modding  blush.gif , after got problem then i'm dead need to buy back 1 for u  rolleyes.gif  tongue.gif laugh.gif
*
actually, i did lots of modding to my previous k750i, but thats after the warranty is over.
been busy lately, no time to look for the latest modding driver for my k810i.
let you mod for me lor, if got problem just buy me the pulse red k810i as a replacement laugh.gif

am looking for the k810i pulse red ori casing now. anyone?

QUOTE(dragoncanfly @ Mar 25 2008, 12:45 AM)
hi everyone... i just bought K810 for less that 1 month. i like it very much, but then the menu key feel like very hard to press... but is still function... some more i got 'hang' of my hp... and restart by taking the batteries... i just feel that it is a second hand hp... My AP set looks like not a brand new phone. sad.gif
*
sorry to hear that. which shop you bought from? i know there are certain shop that replaced the casing and passed it as a new ap set. really unethical. some other shop promised 3 days 1 to 1 swap if the phone has any problem. when the problem arise, they keep on giving lots of excuses and start behave like thugs doh.gif
the best way to identified the phone is in new condition before purchasing is by checking the matching IMEI; usually by pressing *#06# to make sure the IMEI on the phone software is matching with the case(the IMEI number can be seen after removing the battery).
another way is by pressing >*<<*<* where > is by pressing the joystick to right and < to left.
check on the total calls. a friend of mine wanted to buy a new ap set z610i. when i check the service info and total call, there is already more than 10 hours of calls usage!

btw, the keys on k810i is not as responsive for fast sms but acceptable. removing the battery to reset the phone is too much. you should go back to the shop and have them rectify the problem.
once problematic, it'll keep on giving you a headache, bro. icon_rolleyes.gif

hi all sifu^^
wanna ask.. is tat any diff between k800i n k810i except de design?
er.. camera which hv nicer output?
sound which louder o clear?

de joystick veri easy spoiled geh ho?
*
everything is about the same. the only different is the design. k810i is more streamline / slimmer.
and the joystick in k810i is shorter and stiffer, thus giving a feel that it was made to last longer than those
of k800i.
the only drawback on k810i is the chrome keypad, it tend to give slower response in fast sms typing.

exactly! software wasn't a big deal. we can always mod' it.
btw, the k800i doesn't have the camera lights / funtion on the right side of the keypad like in k810i.

the softer sound prolly' caused by the slimmer case, hence, se cramped in a smaller speaker tongue.gif

Just bought Dark Blue K810 2 weeks ago.  Disappointed that it only came with
2 games preinstalled.  Anyone know where to download games?  My set is AP (Bought for RM770, Final Choice) so don't ask me to download from SonyEricsson website.
*
browsed thru the page 70 onwards, there is a link to the game downloads.

mDinine, you can use silicon clear case instead. i saw a shop in jalan pudu selling 'em at 8 bucks.
else, pay more for skinning.
except for the camera cover, the k810i is not easily scratch. a piece of screen protector and another of keypad parts cover will be just nice.

u mean the red color version  hmm.gif
*
yeah! it's the pulse red.
saw the phone in january. ap set retail at rm980 back then with 1gb m2 but i've got a feeling this pulse red color peel of quite easy. even the demo phone already had some small black dot on the battery cover.
correct me if i am wrong.

btw, too many people is using the noble blue. thats why i settled for the ivory gold. thumbup.gif

tested my phone with sandisk 4gb m2. only detected 2gb. i am on r8ba024. any update require?
even on 1gb m2, the phone will lag while accessing the m2 card. especially when we create to many folder inside the card.
so, keep it simple.

my phone only managed to detect up to 2gb.
you can save up to 4gb in the card itself if you are using pc/laptop to transfer the files. but only up to 2gb will be visible from the phone.

i was hoping someone can give me a link to any update that will allow the k810i to support up to 4gb m2.

wow. great info there,
i think it's normal to have abit delay because 4GB its large storage though.

exactly! in my case, i created quite a number of sub folder inside the card, and the lag is kinda annoying.
after reformatting my 2gb m2 and settled with the standar folder, everything back to normal.

Added on April 12, 2008, 3:23 pm

yeah, you are right, there's alot ivory blue users out there including me  smile.gif
by the way, how ivory gold looks for k810i?
i never see it before,
erm, my firmware were also r8ba024, i think that's the latest, correct me if i'm wrong,
so, no update required i guess.

the ivory gold picture is available at the 1st page of this thread  icon_rolleyes.gif
yeah! it is the latest firmware but i read about some forumer who modded their phone to be able to
support 4gb m2.

Added on April 12, 2008, 3:25 pm

as like what yngwie said, you can equipped your k810i with 4GB but the phone will only detects 2GB and the other 2GB will remain as mass storage just like thumb drive, correct me if i'm wrong.

you are right rclxms.gif

initially was wanted to wait until the warranty is over but i decided to do simple mod' to my phone soon.
already done one to my friend's over warranty k810i and the sound is louder than ever.
some more anything happened during modding' i can always send the phone to sc.... paiseh sweat.gif

^wind^, the keypad and joystick in k810i are a lil' harder to press and maybe quite annoying for fast sms but i reckoned
it's tougher than the k800i ones. not easily spoilt.
eternity4av was right about AP and authorised / ori dealer; the main different is warranty and after sales services.
original thorus or midland set usually do the software upgrading for free while AP doesn't.
as we already know, some lousy handphone shop tend to sell a recond unit and passed it as a new unit just by changing the housing
and some parts.

just sharing my bad experience;
a friend of mine almost fell for it. she put a 10% deposite for a new phone from a shop in lowyat cuz' the salesman asked her to do so. i then accompany her to the shop on the next day. i checked the 'new' phone that had been reserved to her and mind you! the life timer
already mentioned a few hours of usage! the salesman refused a replacement. no refund so she have to settled for 1gb of m2 card while we bought a new se phone in my friend's shop somewhere in pandan kapital later that day.
at the same time, a malay guy come to claim a warranty for his faulty 'new' se phone which was promised 3 days 1 to 1 exchange! the malay guy come on the 3rd day cuz his new se suddenly no display de. the salesman simply told him 'masuk air' even when the
'water indicator' on the phone still in pure white! when the malay guy insisted for replacement, the salesman told him he cannot do anything cuz his supervisor is not around and keep on giving a lot of excuses. i just left when the heated argument happened.

for k810i, the water indicator is on the battery, it's the square 3 white line next to the battery contact or something. can't remember.
the white surface will change to darker color once it was in contact with water. haven't try though smile.gif
the service info can be accessed by pressing >*<<*<* where > = pressing the joystick to right side and < = to left side.
total usage will show the covered hours. and don't forget to check if the imei on the phone is identical to the board by pressing *#06#.
try everything from camera zoom to making call. some shop will not entertain when we come back for the phone's fault sweat.gif

if anything goes wrong during the modding; other than erom corrupted or burned chips(due to power overflow, which is seldom happened, anyway), we can always bring back the phone to sc and pay some bucks to get the phone works as usual. i heard that it cost around 60 bucks.
i used a usb cable with extra condensor to stabilize the power / signal that goes into my previous k750i for modding.
make sure the source code is reliable too!
master the art of phone modding in our very own se modding thread at; http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/513166
before proceed. it save a lot of time.

you have to make sure your midi file is stored inside the sound effect folder in the phone itself and not knside the card.
btw, there is a limitation on this. sending more than 30kb of file will be as good as sending a mms.
the better way should be by creating a new picture message, add the midi file into it, type the text but leave the picture blank.

this way, it will be more appropriate.

mean we cannot directly add through music foldeR?
*
vandechrome was right.
you need the FAR manager to download the midi files direct the sound folder inside the phone.
then again, your midi files might not show inside the sound folder. after all, TEXT MESSAGE IS LIMITED to a few kb.
your better option still by using the picture message to send the midi files together with the text.
leave the picture option blank.
