hi everyone,

after spending a week or so in Member Workout Journals,i finally mustered enough gut to start this thread.

i am 19 this year and just finished stpm.

my height is 168cm. and weights around 78kg using my old dusty weight machine (doubt its accuracy, might be heavier)

my problem is...the huge stomach i carry around.

to motivate myself,i joined celebrity fitness with my elder brother's blessing and bought myself a pair of Nike+ shoes when they are having promotion.its a huge investment for me,so it will keep me from slacking away (i hope sweat.gif )

my question is...what should i be doing???can anybody help me???

my aim is... rather simple. give me the confidence to wear a tank top in gym blush.gif

SHORT TERM GOAL
1. Run 5km within 30mins

LONG TERM GOAL
1. Run 10km within 80mins

Side quest
no.1 in Nike+ leaderboard for 12-19 category in Malaysia before i am 20

1. Watch your diet.

2. Incorporate weight training + moderate cardiovascular activity

3. Eat.Sleep.Train enough. Repeat.

As for your weight training, try to focus more on compound movement.

You can start with Rippetoe training program, it's here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/371250.

currently,i am working as a waiter in a steakhouse, and its a tough challenge seeing steak in and out cry.gif so far,i have managed to keep to my diet.when can we meet at 1U???there are so many i need to know.

haha,i find it hard to stick to a diet plan.i guess i will take it a step a time,1st i will try to increase vege and fruits intake,as i previously hate them a lot...

a summary for today
30mins 7.0~8.0 jog.
3 sets of triceps pull of 10 rep 10kg-15kg-10kg
3 sets of high row machine of 10 rep 15kg-20kg-15kg

today kinda rushing for time, thats why didnt do much.but i am glad that i am able to run for 30 mins without giving up.HORRAY

@jones007
dropped 1 kg already.so its 78KG and then height is roughly 169cm.i will try to get the body fat percentage tomorrow smile.gif

haha,i always forgot to record down what i did, thats why never report a lot.but what i did today is kinda simple.

ran for 20 mins and managed 3.28km,average pace is 6'07"/km
MTS high row 15 X 15,17.5 X 12, 22.5 X 10
Chin up (40KG assistance)2 sets X 10
Dip up (40KG assistance) 1 set X 10
Bench press with the stabiliser thingy, barbell only X 15, + 5KG X 12, +10KG X 10
Sit up 3sets X 30 (with that machine thingy)

i guess honeymoon is over and i will be more serious on training from now on.anyway,i tried to lift the barbell without any assistance and it was a big struggle.my hands are shaking like mad,i know its my stabiliser muscles' fault, anyway to overcome it???

add on...

my goal is...to improve my stamina and get back in shape (no 'breast' and big tummy sweat.gif )

Added on January 11, 2008, 1:22 ambeen kinda busy lately, sorry to myself for not going to work out.anyway,i got a job to fund my gym habit and its in 1U too.i am working for Friday from now on.

saw the KL International Marathon and the 10km run will need a qualifying time of 80mins.that will be the goal pushing me to run further
