Cheapest way is Bank Draft in USD. Send to them via Pos. Takes 1 week to arrive in US.
Take another week to clear.

What will be the best way to send them? Since I going to send the registration form this time.

Hi, Any one can confirm on regarding the investment tax. I understand capital gain will incurs US 30% tax. Is it true? But as what I read from previous post, US tax is only for DIVIDED.

How about malaysia tax for capital / DIV gain.

well, i have to say that my money wire transfer took about 6 hours only to be shown in firstrade.
but C is not showing good performance and as usual I will expect it to drop to 3.5 in Oct.
The property loan for small business encountered problem too.
Consider buying it next month.

I in the process of open sogotrade. They had approve my application and ready to send the money. Since I using maybank for the transfer, the outgoing maybank charge will be RM 10 for online FTT. But 3rd party US bank charge not sure.

I don't think it expensive to trade using US trade. I trade using local account, Buy and sell will incurs exchange loss beside the high broker fee.

The only worry will be those company not exist in malaysia.

Besides Etrade.com, which brokerage firm has bank account with brokerage account combined?

I have account with Etrade.

I am asking this becoz it would be easier to transfer money using ACH (USA interbank transfer).

Some of the local brokerage firms do offer overseas trading.
You can try to check out Hong Leong E-Broking.
*
Hi, I know that but their broker fee very expensive. So better open online account.

I think Hong Leong is one of the brokerage firm with cheapest fee offered.

If you are interested, just open an account, you can either trade online or manual.

The last I know is HL cannot trade online.
As for the fee. Sogotrade only charge USD3 per trade nia.

Read this post on how to open, BTW I have not try it. The post owner said he made it.

I open myself while visiting US last June not through this method

Btw, even we open the US account, transfer money from and to them also will incurs charges. Eg, USD 20 for wired transfer from US bank to Malaysia bank. Any others cheaper option?

As for HSBC, I understand no charges required if you transfer between own local and own US account. (Premium customer).

For this case, it better just open sogotrade account and wired transfer the money direct to them and from them. The charge a bit expensive.

No need to waste time to transfer from sogotrade to us-bank and then transfer to malaysia.
