Bro CV6149,
Do you add chip voltage to ensure HT Link stability>??

-pWs-

What is default chip voltage? Mine can go up to 1300-1400 without any issue. However, I don't seem experience better performance.

Who has try OC Phenom to 3Ghz? I heard TLB errectra issue only persists in Virtualization environment esp in Opteron servers.

thinking to buy x2 4000++...does it bottleneck 8800gt performance?

Mine yes. Getting Winsdor 5600 F3 for testing these few days. Hoping to reach 3.1Ghz and above and do a comparison between current Brisbane. Best best is to wait for cheaper Phenom (price lowered down for B2 Rev).

Guys, I gotten my 5600+ F3. It start with CCB8F 0746APMW. Model: ADA5600IAA6CZ. Is it a good proc? Will post results tomorrow after OC kau kau.

Add me as F3 user. 1st attempt but it seem I set Vcore too high. Any recommended Vcore here?

AMD 5600+ F3 | capriodimitri | M2N32 Sli Deluxe | Corsair Twin 2X CL5 | Xigmatek HDT-S1283

Advise for M2N32 Sli Deluxe user, DO NOT upgrade BIOS to 1503 unless you are running Phenom. There are several major bugs in it. It lock HT Link as 1X, PCI-E has bandwidth issue, cause extreme loss of graphic performance. My 3D Mark 06 drop to 6200 from 9300. After flash back, I manage to break own record to 10800.

[attachmentid=364245]

Any advise for me to OC this proc kau kau? Not my proc, can do whatever I like, keke.

Add me please, an update to previous result. I think this is the highest OC I can achieve with this proc without any errors.

5600+ X2 Windsor F3 | capriodimitri | M2N32 SLi Deluxe | Corsair XMS2 | 6400 | 5-5-5-15-23 | Xigmatek HDT S1283

Show your SuperPi 32M or Orthos [>1 hour] with CPU-Z overclocked screenshot

I wonder why quite a number of new records do not have SuperPi 32M or Orthos >1 hour? A few of them just post 1M SuperPi. Even if windows able to boot with such high speed, wont it be unwise to run at such unstable processor calculation?

Using F3, I notice vcore require is much lower to achieve higher speed. But since I am new in OC here, how some people can achieve such high OC (with dry ice and etc) but aint using it for daily use? Is it just for benchmark? For me, I cant go higher than 3.22Ghz with this proc without error. Even I pumped muvh vcore but it is still the same. It can boot up at 3.3ghz but got error at Orthosing.

I think the main purpose of OC would be maximize our value of the proc esp for daily usage, right? Hope to hear opinion from you.

i'm sure bro -pws- is doing his job well
those results with pi 1M will not be added into database smile.gif

wow, looking for a debate?  icon_idea.gif
your question is simple to answer
let's take an example,
you watch F1 racing?
one of the hottest race on earth.
But don't you think it's stupid?
create such fast and mighty beast but cannot use it for daily life
But yet so many people love it,
why?
Because those F1 drivers enjoy the game and people enjoy watching.
extreme overclock is more or less the same thing  laugh.gif

Thanks, I agree what you are implying. Me not looking for debate la, still new tongue.gif Just wanna ask a technical question, actually. Is it possible to OC so high and yet so stable for certain batch of proc? Example, mine is OC to 3.22, if I get another similar proc, will the result be same, or there is a possibility to OC to 3.4?

Why is it there is error, despite I have check all the following: vcore, vdimm, ram timing + speed, HT bus, temperature? Is it luck?

My M2N32-SLi Deluxe has new bios for Phenom. However, it is full of bugs and I have to downgrade it. It lock at HT 1X and PCI-e bandwidth greatly reduced. My 3D Mark 06 scores reduced from 9300 to 6200. Asus has good reputation updating their firmware for their products and good warranty/service as well. That's the difference among the board maker.

to reduce the temp diff. between the core, the only way is to remove the IHS  smile.gif

How to remove? With current AM2 clamping type of its cooler, I think it might actually damage the processor as we cant control the pressures of cooler on the naked processor.

Just got myself Windsor 5200+ F3. I am wondering if batch number CCB8F and CCB6F have large difference in term of over clocking? The one I have is CCB6F.

Can only found CCB8F in 5600+

i would say that yes there will be big difference for CCB6F and CCB8F.
anyway you can give a try, who knows you've got a good CCB6F laugh.gif
We won't know that  wink.gif

Oh dear, can I expect 3.2 Ghz from 2.6 Ghz? From my initial test, I think processor cache play an important role in its speed.

3.3Ghz, is it stable at 3.3? If it is, I will get one and try myself. What voltage vcore you put in BIOS? You have awesome RAM there.

I posted a simple benchmark of Phenom 9500 OCed to 2.5Ghz at hardware thread. Dunno where should I post the benchmark since there are no dedicated Phenom thread in here.

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/557093/+280

For those waiting for B3 stepping, you can check the performance too as I have posted both TLB enable and disable benchmark. There ARE really differences. However, kindly notice that I am running AM2 board.

It is using memory diver 5.5. Memory screen shot is empty, CPU-Z cant recognize. I run some application behind, thus this not valid for benchmark.

woot, another phenom.
Can u try to break 230fsb...lol. I'm really eager to see how many 9500+ can actually break that.
*
Ya, try that, actually putting 236 fsb. running good through the benchmark with the default Vcore. I am selling due to my BIOS issue. Otherwise, I am keeping it. On the bug, I can disable the TLB and enable it. That's how to compare with B3 stepping. Those waiting for B3 might want to consider as it need to wait till May. The bug very unlikely to cause system hang, as most of us do not run 100% cpu process all the time. Only virtualization on servers.

Me la, keke. Hope 790FX will able fully utilize the quad core. I dunno your BIOS setting, if you need to disable TLB patch manually, tell me oh, I know the way. Increase 10% ++ for my mobo.

I am wondering if 5000 B.E. can OCed to 3.4Ghz? What vcore you using now? I will pit this against Windsor and put more benchmark here. Previous 5600+ can do SuperPI 32MB at 24m. Is it ok/fast?
