hmmm from a person that used to play magic in tournaments, u can counter spells that produce mana...
spells no matter what still use the stack (which is why u can counter the rituals for dstorm)...
on the other hand, mana abilities (tap for mana) does not use the stack (lands, elves etc)

anything other than mana ability/ ability-less lands comes into play uses the stack...
upon going onto the stack, u have the option to continue on adding things onto the stack or pass priority...
if u pass ur priority, the opponent then have the priority to do things (putting things onto the stack)...
only until both player pass the priority, the top of the stack resolves...

ooooh i see.
thanks for clarifying!

yeah i was wondering also.
cos i think again, the rule mentioned ability that produces mana.
dark ritual is an instant cast spell, not an ability, so it can be countered! biggrin.gif
but i dun think ppl will go and counter dark ritual, unless he feels like the player is gonna cast something dreadful. O_O

u haven seen dragonstorm decks yet ^.^
those decks were the beast during 2007 season

i had limited cards for odyssey/mirrodin (mostly swamps, but got 'kamahl, the pit fighter' off some card vending machine brows.gif ) but it is not enuf to construct a deck, and:

1. no fwen to pway with. most of them were too ah-beng/ ah-lian for techno music rather than sit down and pway this kind of geek-ish/ nerd-ish game.

2. price. earlier years during school time i did stumbled across few unlimited/ 7th edition deck that was too costly for me to get one

3. game mechanics: new keywords like threshold, buyback, flashback, landfall, vigilance etc had me looking to new rules just to understand what are those stuff stand for.  sad.gif

last time i went to some shop in sungei wang (aka RL undercity... fukken maze shakehead.gif ) with fwen as 'tour guide', i see whole bunch of peeps there talking strategic and playing... no brainer Y*-G*-*H CCG...

plus i need to feed my addiction.

srsly, i'm getting buttock-hurted

2x buttock-hurting experience within 2 hours.

i dun own a car and mostly relied on in-city rail road transportation (star and putra, some extent monorail and LOOOONG waiting KTM). Public transport suxx so bad here that i had to walk becoz i'm too stingy to take a cab a environmental
fwenly dude

do you know that the residential area short cut from Putra station to industrial area (notably a large milk manufacturing workshop) has many wild dawgs?
