QUOTE(clayclws @ Dec 16 2007, 05:19 PM) Yeah..and they got lots of stocks too.Anyway, the standard cooler on 8800GT is starting to get me worried. My friend's MSI crashed after like 10 mins of playing "Stranglehold". |

QUOTE(ir1z @ Dec 17 2007, 10:29 AM) So whats your final choice ya? ====================== By the way, I am getting my 88GT soon and I would like to know what are the procedures you guys follow in installing this card? Is these steps correct? 1) Get Nvidia 88GT related driver. 2) Get Driver Cleaner. 3) Uninstall old Nvidia Driver from Control Panel 4) Restart computer. 5) Log into Safe Mode. Remove all Nvidia related drivers. Turn off comp. 6) Remove old card. Place 88GT. 7) Start back comp, install Nvidia 88GT related driver. 8) Done This post has been edited by mikelee: Dec 17 2007, 11:00 AM |

A user's review on the new ASUS 8800GT with Glaciator cooler.
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=1813561 Looks nice but the downside is no temp readings. |

QUOTE(clayclws @ Dec 18 2007, 10:42 AM) It is the temperature that warrants the purchase...no temp readings, make it hard for people to judge the feasibility of the Glaciator heatsink/cooler. Yeah, looks like ASUS is a no go for me. Maybe the Gigabyte model with zalman fan should do it.QUOTE(Terence573 @ Dec 18 2007, 12:13 PM) Looks like ASUS have either disabled or removed the temp sensor from its BIOS. QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Dec 18 2007, 12:50 PM) do i think that the card appearance is just like a cheap 1950GT with ogre colour instead of ferrari red Infact the card looks shorter than the standard 8800GT.QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 18 2007, 02:01 PM) Is there any more 3rd party cooler other than Thermalright HR-03GT, Zalman 900CU LED, Artic Accelero S1 and Artic Silencer 5? How bout the Zalman Fatality model? Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(madballs @ Dec 21 2007, 11:26 AM) hmmm......i just got my gigabyte 8800gt last wed (the one with zalman fan and OC ver) You can have a read on this rivatuner guide, posted by sotong168:the idle temp is 50-51c and highest temp i got is 72c when playing HL2. but when i try to use rivatuner, it seems that my fan is running at 100% all the time and i can't adjust it. Also, there's no ambient temp showing in the HWmonitor in rivatuner. It is suppose to be like this ? http://www.vaguesoft.com/users/dwood/blog/...rials/rivatuner Hopefully it helps. If all fails, get Everest. Straight away can check ambient temp. Anyway where you got the GC? |

After about a week of using my gc, I realized its not only CPU bottleneck but also RAM plays an important part in gaming. I am having slow loading times at the start of COD4.
I guess its time to scout for those oldies "2GB DDR400 kit". This post has been edited by mikelee: Dec 31 2007, 09:47 AM |
