My new Twin Dragons for 2nd rig. Just arrived from Hong Kong today.










These are the 700mhz OC AMP version. It comes with full aluminum cooler, even the fan cover is aluminum for maximum heat dissipation. Not like the stock which comes with plastic fan cover. The fans are also different n even comes with LED.

Best thing is this- Right now, only Zotac is using Samsung 1ns chips which have been tested to be much better than the Qimondas on other brands.










Havent even installed it n I'm slapping on my favorite thermal paste- Arctic Cooling MX2. I'll keep the other card on stock paste n do a comparison of temps once I get them installed into my rig.

It's the fibers from the cotton wool I used to clean off the paste so we can see the markings on the chip. It's funny how it doesnt appear to the naked eye but when u macro shot with a camera every little detail comes out.

I always use Zippo fluid.

U guys worried about 8800GT temps shud check out the super duper uber cool temps of the Zotac AMP. I just tested mine n they're only running at 62C full load. Not only that, I'm running them in SLI in a super small n tight SFF case called the Silverstone SG03. I loaded up the dual core CPU to 100% n then ran the Zotac AMPs at 100% n still the temps were nice n cool. The all aluminum cooler from Zotac must be working really well. I'll post the screenshot later coz it's in the SG03 rig n I'm using my King Kong rig to post this now.

I didnt change any settings. All on stock coz I just installed everything to test the thermal characteristics of my SG03 case.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I finally had sum free time to plonk my Zotac AMP 700/2000 cards into my benching rig n it's pretty impressive. It cannot beat my 8800GTX in gaming for sure, but in terms of 3DM06 it is very impressive indeed.

Here's a run I just did with 8800GT Zotac AMP Version 700/2000. This is the version with Samsung chips.
Just look at the score in Vista, 17183 marks. If I run in Windows XP the score will be even higher. The cards were only run at stock AMP speeds. I didn't even OC them yet.

The cards that I used for the above scores are the new Zotac AMPs with blue PCB n red LED fans. Zotac is the only 1 that's using Samsung chips right now. Supposed to be much better than the Qimonda equipped cards.

Zotac sent them to me. I'm sponsored by Zotac. They are available from LYP now though. Retail price I'm not sure how much.

Ya it's available locally already. rsangel just bought the same card that I have.




Haven't tried individual cards yet to compare temps. Will do so once I finish testing them in SLI.

I used my favorite Arctic Cooling MX2 on 1 of the 8800GT I have to compare the temps with stock paste. But I havent tested single cards yet. Now still playing with SLI.

I'm testing SLI performance right now. After I finish then I will go back to testing single card. It's very time consuming to keep uninstall n install drivers n hardware so once I do it, I will test everything until I satisfied only move on to next thing. Right now testing 8800GT SLI performance so I can compare with 8800GTX SLI performance. After that I will move on to single card to compare teh temps of MX2 n stock paste. By that time the MX2 would have had sum time to cure oso.

Ya I'm in the process of doing it now. Spent the whole night playing with the Zotacs until 10am just now pengsan oredi. Tonight new years dinner, tomorrow hangover, probably wednesday oni will get down to OCing.

Here's the latest result I've managed to get with my Zotac 8800GT AMP cards.

Just use Zippo fluid. Removes thermal paste like 1,2,3.

3DM06 is a real crock. CPU OC produces extra marks by the thousands while GPU OC gets u only like 200 marks. It's utter nonsense. I hope 3DM07 or whatever comes out next goes back more towards the GPU.

U cannot check the temp like that. Use Rivatuner's graph to scan tru the temps during the gaming session. There's no way a card will be only 2C hotter during games, unless ur using extremely good water cooling on the gfx card. Even then the temp diff shud still b about 5C.
