second to acecombat.. i believe engineers over at nvidia should know the heat problem of their product.. since they never actually rectify it.. haha.. so i think it should be safe.... hehe.. just my thought..

QUOTE(Najmods @ Feb 13 2008, 10:07 PM) What I see is there are two version of fans installed on 8800GT (with stock cooler) the XFX uses slightly bigger fan. See difference here between XFX cards and eVGA cards but then i tot thats xfx is 256mb card instead of 512mb? xfx got launch another 512 version with bigger fan rite...That's the reason why XFX cards monitors lower temperature |

QUOTE(lichyetan @ Mar 12 2008, 11:25 PM) recently realise tht if wanna go for nvidia card, dont go for pre-OC card, nvidia keep on crashing on my pre-OC'ed Zotac 8800GT AMP edition... i can pass all test, 3dmark and everything even 5 hours gaming non-stop, but it still crashes randomly... very random... not neccessary lar bro... my evga superclocked has no problem at all.. and can give me unlimited hours of kicking KPA's asses in crysis.. hehe |

some card manufacturers do have their reasoning of selling at higher price isn't it? for example, xfx.. their warranty is different.. they allow u to OC as u like... so definitely they have to charge higher..
for pre-OC card.. to me, its just like a guarantee letter that it definitely (*mostly, hehe) will be ok to run at such a speed... imho, its not that the buyer stupid o dumb.. hehe.. just they have different POV... btw, usin evga superclocked 8800GT.... which is much expensive than others.. hehe... mayb my choice is irrational.. QUOTE(toothgnasher @ May 23 2008, 04:59 PM) hi.I'm planning to get 8800GT since i notice 9600GT performance aren't that good. Between Asus EN8800GT TOP and eVGA GEFORCE 8800GT SC 512MB i'm an user of eVGA 8800GT Superclocked Edition, in terms of performance... i think all reference 8800GT is the same (given tht the configurations are the same).. maybe got some minor minor stuff la... but in terms of stability, i'm extremely satisfy with it... it can OC well too... I never use eVGA, so don't know the performance. Would appreciate some pros n cons frm user here or share any review tests done on websites, on these two cards. Currently i'm using Asus 7950GT card. So far so good and no prob cheers |

QUOTE(olly @ Jun 5 2008, 03:22 PM) actually im looking for 512mb 9600 has fewer shader processor compare to 8800... it will shows its difference in games requires more of it like crysis, company of heroes n others... different not much either actually.. y dun just go for 8800gt... though the heat produced is 'awesome'..im using 20" dell wfp monitor compare with 8800 vs 9600 which 1 is better. coz 9600 much more cheaper any idea?? haha |

QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Jun 6 2008, 12:27 AM) Heat produced isn't an issue though if you get those with modded coolers, such as XFX and Gigabyte's Zalman cooled ones... i'm talkin abt reference cooler la bro.. just give a rough idea what is the reference design by nvidia.. of course if u put in a AC or Auras of cos is damn good.. or maximize the fan speed... QUOTE(KayK @ Jun 6 2008, 09:02 AM) i agree...go for 8800gt...although 9600gt performance/price is very good marginally losing to 8800gt but you will experience smoother gameplay in higher reso with those extra shader...8800gt ain't that expensive anymore...RM650 for 8800gt is very affordable... if i'm not wrong 9600gt is around 500 now? just another 150 more expensive.. but is worth la.. gee... electronics always electronics.. bought mine almost 1k++ actually depends on other factors as well, such as your casing air flow, ambient / room temp...my 8800gt can reach 70 degree during intensive gaming...so heat from 8800gt is quite high...
