I'm going away to somewhere. But it took like 12 hours in plane to reach the destination.
So my question is, can i play my iPod inside plane?

During flight...I think they dont allow you to do so cause, worry it will somehow interfere with their radio signal. Let just said, they want you to close any devices...
I just came back from UK few days ago...is a 12 hours plus journey...direct flight...from KL to London, Heathrow...even my psp they dont allow me to open* it during flight. Anyway, there's this in-flight entertainment provided...even you're taking economy flight...everyone will have their own tv* control...you can listen to songs, news, movie-on-demand, series-on-demand,games (ya...games). So, you won't get bored. Cheers. |

Err...the way I look at their instructions during the flight was, turn off all your devices that could interfere with the radio signal. So, any devices such as phone, pda, ipod which allow user to detect* for available network....including wifi, 3g, etc...could interfere* with their radio transmission...need to turn off...
well...that is the instructions given before the plane taking off... About magsafe...hmm...I'm not sure...maybe it just a provide power to your computer...without any whatsover signal? |

You can use whatever electronics (other than mobile phone) you want except during takeoff and landing.
If you can't use ipod or PSP, why do they have on flight entertainment |

I used my iPod on a flight to US, no problems....... and that's close to 20 hours, but battery died out long before that.
PSP and my PDA also used, no problems whatsoever. |

Well, if you follow MythBuster series on Discovery, you should know that electronic items DOES NOT intefere with airplane equipments.
However, the test was conducted in small scale. Just turn it off for goodwill. |

no probs with using an ipod on an airplane
however , if u're still in doubt ... just ask a member of the cabin crew. i'm sure they'll give a reassuring yes to the ipod |

QUOTE(Onso @ Dec 13 2007, 12:48 AM) But but they won't let me turn on my e-book reader on the flight.... The rules say no electronic devices during take off and landing only. The iPod can be used during the flight itself. I've used mine with a Belkin battery backup and it lasted ~8 hours of video on a 22 hour flight. The cabin crew don't care if you use it, they'll just advise you to turn it off during take off and landing. I've even had a family member left her phone on during a flight from Europe to Malaysia. We got back with some strange roaming welcome SMS from the Ukraine and a few other places. |

About magsafe...hmm...I'm not sure...maybe it just a provide power to your computer...without any whatsover signal? basically pda, mp3 player, laptop, camera, mobile phones on airplane mode can be switched on during cruising. the only time it is not allowed is when the plane is taking off or landing or during taxi. listen to the instruction, with long haul flight, they will tell you when you can switch on your electronic devices except phone. the announced it every first time when the seat belt 'on' indicator is switched off and last time when the light is on, ready to land. and wifi is allowed on plane actually. i have used wifi numerous time on board because the plane (SIA) was equipped with free wifi since 2006. |
