If you cancel the Air Asia Ezypay Passport MasterCard and you still have some money inside, can you request for a refund on the unused balance ? How do you do it and normally how long does it take to issue the refund ?

QUOTE(alexwsk @ May 26 2016, 07:16 PM)
if not mistaken, RM1.5k per withdrawal is the max for any ATM in malaysia
*
Not if the ATM dispenses RM100 bill. If the ATM dispenses RM100 bill, then you can withdraw RM3,000 in a single transaction. RM1,500 limit only applies to ATM that dispenses RM50 bill or smaller.

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 26 2016, 08:03 PM)
Is it? I thought can set limit, I have done that for Maybank and withdrew more than that. hmm.gif
Or I remember wrongly? I don't think so...
*
That's a different limit. For Maybank debit card, you can withdraw up to RM5,000 in a single day. Not sure if the limit is any higher for certain Maybank debit card such as the Premier Wealth debit card.

You can set the daily withdrawal limit for your CIMB Bank debit card to RM10,000/day even if you have a normal CIMB Bank savings account.

thanks miles, learnt something new. so it is limited to 30 pieces of notes, i'm sure the machine can dispense more, maybe time for banks to look into it
*
No problem. Yes. It is possible. Likewise, most CDM can only accept up to 99 pieces of banknotes in a single transaction but in reality, most CDM (NCR, Diebold and Wincor-Nixdorf) is designed to accept more than that. But a while ago, I came across a CDM that accepts more than 99 banknotes in a single transaction. It's at Standard Chartered if my memory serves me correctly.

nod.gif will look for ATM which dispense 100 note

Go to HSBC (branch not off-site ATM). Most of their ATM come with a label that states what kind of currency denomination is dispensed by the ATM.

Successfully used my card in Bangkok.
Good exchange rate and convenient

Definitely will continue to use it as all my transaction was record in the bigpay app for my record purposes.

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ May 1 2018, 08:35 AM)
made a few purchases on ebay. only usd is slightly lower than xe rate. aus and pounds slightly higher. but definitely still cheaper than credit card though.
*
To all of you who are using or intend to use this BigPayMe Prepaid MasterCard overseas or in foreign currency. Kindly take note that the exchange rate you see on the app right after a transaction is posted is NOT the final exchange rate. You may only see the final exchange rate only the status of that particular transaction is changed from “pending” to “settled”.

I just realized when I noticed the balance in my BigPayMe app has been steadily declined over the last few days even though i had not use the card after I came back from overseas last Saturday.

See what they answer... Still didn't give us a guideline... Anyway for those who got suspended, you can always contact their support to unblock the card if valid reason given.
What my suggestion is if really we got use it to buy something, especially for my case is groceries, i don't think they will suspend the card if the withdrawal is only 2-3 times per month.
I think they will only suspend those who withdraw too much in a huge amount and didn't use their card to pay something at all
*
That’s precisely what I suspect too. That those people who got their BigPay blocked or suspended were due to too many ATM cash withdrawals but not many retail purchases using BigPay.

Yeah. I will do the same too.

Anyway, over the past one week I had successfully used this BigPay MasterCard at Traveloka, Expedia, Boost, Shopee, Grab. Only at one Swedish travel website (gotogate) that I was unable to complete my payment using BigPay. I decided not to take any risk and proceeded to book my air tickets via Expedia.

For your information, it seems that Expedia is charging “processing fee” for certain airlines ticket purchase using a certain type of credit or charge card such as AMEX. At the final checkout page, a message appeared that I will not be charged any “processing fee” if i make the payment using VISA credit, VISA debit, MasterCard credit or debit MasterCard. I used BigPay Prepaid MasterCard to pay for the tickets. I suppose it falls under debit MasterCard category. The said airline I said Qatar Airways. I had previously bought Cathay Pacific Airways tickets through Expedia but was not charged any extra for making payment using AMEX. So I guess the “processing fee” to be charged is airline specific.

I still got the full 1% cash back last month though. Cash back is credited in two tranches. 0.1% and then 0.9% the following day.

You guys can keep complain about ewallet or blend in and keep up with the world changes. Sooner or later we wil experience the situation in China now.

They have made foray into Hong Kong and South Korea way earlier with little success. End up most of the users in Hong Kong and South Korea are Mainland Chinese citizens. Locals continue to stick to credit card. In duty free shops in downtown Seoul, most Chinese citizens also continue to use Unionpay for payment.

Ultimately, regardless what you told them(test the apps la, utilize credit card cash back la, need money from credit la, this la that la) or what they told you, what they really looking after, is your credit card statement (cc used to reload bigpay) and bank account statement (account used to deposit cash withdrawed from Bigpay) to examine the cash flow.

Most of my fren choose to surrender the info, and they got unblock.
*
They want to follow the money trail to make sure you guys are not laundering money.

Speaking of BigPay. BigPay seems to be suffering a series of technical issues of late.

I'm wondering why they want to see then bank account, we need to pay the credit card statement anyway, there is no way we transfer the cash to other place and not paying back to cc, totally a nonsense move by Bigpay…
*
To see the trail of money. To make sure you aren’t withdrawing the money and give it to some other people.. But if you do, you should have a proper explanation why you did what you did. Banks are very strict in complying AMLA nowadays.

QUOTE(digidigi @ Jul 18 2018, 10:19 AM)
3k per month also got problem then they better close shop
*
HSBC has been questioning its customers for multi transfers involving less than a thousand RM. So the move by BigPay is considered peanut.

And to those who claimed BigPay top-up is no longer counted as online transaction for OCBC Titanium MC. Please check your OCBC online transaction history again. It is just OCBC is late in making the adjustment this month.

it is not logical that you withdraw the money and give to other people, you still need to pay the credit card that you top up Bigpay from
*
Doesn’t matter. The banks are carrying out checks according to AMLA..

i called ocbc. their cash rebate is not paid to you all in one month. it's divided by 2 (current month and another one is on next month). ocbc cs also told me that bigpay is not considered as online transaction. hence only 0.1%. this is because i checked my statement, there is no 1% rebate. only 0.1%  doh.gif
*
Please check your online banking account again. The adjustment is normally made 1 days after the first cash rebate is credited to your account. But this month the remaining rebate for online transaction is credited 5 days later. And I got the full 1% cash rebate for BigPay transaction too for this month.
