I wasn't doing any workout but went jogging and plays futsal once a week but wanted to build up lots of strength because now I am weak as an egg......(can get crushed with just a crack)

Was following Disciple's advice and went for Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength guide......Just started a week ago and this is how I started

My target: BUILD LOTS OF STRENGTH! YEA!

Stats:

2nd December 2007:
Weight: 71 kg
BMI: ?
BMR: ?
% Body Fat: 19.8%

This is what I did by following Mark Rippetoe's program:

Week 1: flex.gif

Most of them are done after Body Pump Class:

Monday Workout A
Squats 3 x 5 x 50lbs
Bench 3 x 5 x 40lbs
Deadlift 1 x 5 x 50lbs

Wednesday Workout B
Squats 3 x 5 x 50lbs
Military press 3 x 5 x 30lbs
Pendlay rows 3 x 5 x 40lbs

Friday Workout A
Squats 3 x 5 x 50lbs
Bench 3 x 5 x 40lbs
Deadlift 1 x 5 x 50lbs

Week 2: flex.gif

Monday Workout B
Squats 3 x 5 x 50lbs
Military press 3 x 5 x 40lbs
Pendlay rows 3 x 5 x 40lbs

All ends with:
4 x 8 x 2.5kg Double Plate Press (used single plate since don't have double 1kg)
2 x 8 x 10lbs x 2 DB Curls

The rest will be posted next week I guess when I finish up
I am new to working out and building muscles so It would be so kind as to give me some advice on the program that I am doing. Thx in advance as well thumbup.gif

Added on December 11, 2007, 9:43 pmOh yea some of the times when I do bench presses or military press that has movements and pressure on the elbow I always hear cracks sound on my left elbow during the down time.....Is that a big problem? if yes how should I fix it?

Pop sounds usually means that there are nitrogen escaping from your joints. Usually possible when u clentch your hands together. Pretty harmless in the short run, might be harmful in the long run.

Crack sounds your joints are screwed, must immediately seek medical attention.

I tried doing Workout A yesterday and found out its more of Pops sound basically when I am holding the barbell way up and releasing the time my elbow does some pop sounds~ what do you mean by harmful in a long run?? what should I do to fix it? and is it possible that the pop sounds that my arms make is because of my poor form?

In this case, I agree with Jones. Do seek clarification from doctor.

I had only one or twice pop (mainly on my shoulder) in the my very first and second work out after that it totally disappear.

However, your case it seems to be very frequent. Better safe than sorry.

Tennis?? I only play for fun.....not a regular
Just played for fun but I think I have found the answer to my problem at the bottom article:
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Aerobics-2267/P...-hip-during.htm

I don't feel any pain.....just have the sound only......and also I think I have to have a set of stretching before I do any Lifting.....and also warm up as well.....any recommendations or warm up workouts that anyone here find useful and would like to share?? Or I just do the regular Rippetoe's workout with like half the weight that I normally carry??
