Wow at last someone posts a thread like this... I wanna ask my question here too ..

My female friend ( I'm a man FYI ) is migrating to Singapore soon and I'm gonna invite her out for a bite somewhere ... Actually, we love each other but we never confess our love ( We both knew it ) .. I was planning to do it recently but then she's leaving for Singapore so I guess it would be better for me to stop my plan .. A distanced love is hard to maintain and I know she's ambitious so I don't wanna be in her way..

I'm planning to buy her something during the Genting trip but now the problem is I still don't know what should I buy for her ... She's much like those tough girls ( 女强人 in Mandarin, I don't know how to translate, for those who don't understand Mandarin, the tough girl I mentioned is not tomboy, its like those tough women who work, earn money and feed themselves ) So I think things like dolls are not suitable for her (She's 17 if you wanna know ) ...

My budget .. I'm still a student so I can't really afford expensive things but around 200-400 is still not a big problem I guess.

I know what you mean. It's like those kind of women like in Kimi wa Petto. It's refreshing to have this kind of personality as a character in an asian series. well to help you out, you got the right idea in not getting her gifts that shows signs of stereotypical feminity.
How about those organizers or digital planners? but it's hardly romantic.... wink.gif

bro, u change your question from wat effort u can do to make her happy, instead of what to buy to make her happy. perhaps some arrangement of romantic dinner will reli touch her. if she love u.
or arrange a special frens birthday party gathering for her. she wil b surprise oso..
ya.. SURPRISE is the key word to make gal happy.. but surprise to make her happy. not surprise by bringing back another gal and make her jealous . haha

sometime gals just wanna have a good time. You can try getting a ring if u wana let her remember u. And u can try accesories. Watch is nice.

or personalize a book or accesories for her. So she can remember the present. Maybe a dress also good

the list goes on. But at lazo diamond, rm300 can be alot. Can buy alot. take a look. Nothing turns gals on but sparkle

Hmm like that it is your job to know your gf taste... every girl is different...

For example, like me, I dont like the necklace, ring and etc for my birthday (from bf)...

However, I quite like perfume but i dont think it is suitable to use in Malaysia (why lah so hot)... It depends on what I need around that time... cuz I would treasure more... Like few years back, my bf gave me one of the add-on Sims Game CD and I was so happy cuz I was addicted to Sims that time and wanted some add-ons stuff and he bought it for me and til now I still remember it... haha... I think I quite like different stuff... I like to drink tea (English herbal tea, green tea, fragance tea... but I would love to try out chinese tea too)... So if my bf could give me a tea set (the proper chinese tea set), I would be happy...

Some girls like chocolate, some love necklace, some love teddy bears... so I think you should get to know your gf more cuz I mean it is her birthday, should get what she likes and not the general stuff lor... She is unique...

Or maybe surprise her with hot air balloon ride ker... horse ride then dinner... oso not bad...

Why not get a branded COACH wristlet for her. It is 40-70% lower than retail price and definitely fits your RM300 budget.

Buy a perfume that she like & always wear. To prove that you know how is she smell like... That she will feel very touching & appreciate it.

If you were thinking to get her shoes, bags or dress, you are in the risk to get something that she might not love it... wink.gif

Then she may become angry because you never know her taste wub.gif

Her next birthday, you send her a surprise gift.....usually people send flowers (very boring la) so the trend now is you send lingerie (no hanky panky ones ok?) to her office or house...all wrapped up in very nice packaging. You must check out [URL=http://www.nancesk.com]Luxurious Lingerie from Malaysia, they deliver your purchases to anyone in Malaysia for free and also they accept worldwide orders. Very convenient. Their lingerie are elegant and beautiful all silk satin la thumbup.gif

make it simple, spend whole day with her, turn off your phone
make sure appreciate her
surprice her bday party call her best friend come who havent met

maybe go sing k then celeb there
try bring her for some diff kind of lunch/dinner like a never been before restaurant with new type of food

buy her a small cute plushie too give it end of the day smile.gif with a kiss

make sure that day is special and remembered always

what i did for my gf is brought her out to new restaurant
then surpriced her by bringing her over to sing k (she wanted to go for quite some time) cost me a lot to book the place during weekend cuz fully reserved

then call her close friends over who she havent seen in a while
surprice cake attack by the k management

then later during end of the day i present her with new handphone.

total cost = 2k the experience/memory and her expression is priceless

just make sure she is happy and enjoys it

Added on October 18, 2008, 2:46 amowh ya plus it was her 21st bday smile.gif so i made sure its as good as it can get

original plan was to bring her over to a romantic location near my place KL but i had midterm so just spend all the time here at mlk

My boyfriend is really bad at getting gifts for me (he should read this discussion!)

A surprise gift from him will be a real SURPRISE! when I get it.

It's not so much how much it costs, really. Expensive gifts are nice but I for one prefer getting a few not-so expensive gifts, rather than just one *wink*

I personally enjoy going out for a romantic dinner - the time spent together is so special and probably more meaningful than any material item.

haha wat i did last time to my gf birthday is give a whole day suprise....

because a distance relationship, so i make a video recording all her friends and sure included her family... * she stay at college where far from her families and hometown friends*

then i purposely went to her college and fetch her back to hometown celebrate her birthday...

in my car i hide few presents every department of my car* necklace, the video cd, hand make cards, flowers* the onlythings i wan to hide but cant is the cake.

beginning i bring her celebrate with her hometown friends, after that at night i bring her out and when in the half way i pretending call her bring out somethings from my from car drawer...
is a handmake birthday card and the video.
she so suprise until nothing to say....

in this kind of mood, i bring out the flowers... then on top of the flower got necklace....

she so happy for that day
