PS3/PSN games or demos are not region locked.

its just that sometimes got some programming glitch/bugs and the fact that the programmers don't test it (they are not required to anyway) with different region PS3s worldwide.

i think some eyetoy PSN games also have some bugs to prevent it from playing on certain region sets.

the 1st demo is city exploration + 2 fight scenarios+ 1 story scene

the 2nd demo got a couple of minigames - talking with courtesans, horseback archery and a couple of fight scenarios.

if you play the 1st game, Yakuza before, then everything should be familiar. The HUD and gameplay mechanics remain true to the series.

i believe ps2 BC for the 40GB is still part of their roadmap. after all, psp can generate ps2-like graphics without a GS chip, surely 40GB can too if the emulation team gets the budget to work on it.

discounted ffxii international for USD20 was really worth it. playing a ff game in JPN is quite painless with gamefaqs help

those ps1 games offered on Asian Store can be played on all ps3 (40GB included) and psp (official firmware, i think)

but most of those games are in JPN language - including dino crisis and biohazard:DC. but price very reasonable - about RM16/ea.

the 40GB can run ps1 games just like the psp can - using software emulation.

the only think the 40GB is lacking is the ps2's GS chip. 20/60/80GB sets have GS chip. without GS chip, ps2 emulation still not ready yet. if sony surveys the customer and they don't care about ps2 BC, they'll just axe the ps2 emulation project.

for example, the xbox1 emulation team is still operational because the higher-ups haven't terminate their project yet.

^are you sure? IINM, the blood censor code only gets activated on JPN sets. Asian set play UDF, enemies got spill blood when shot or punched, no?

jsc_tidus, i play with controller connected via USB, what i observe is that when the HDD is loading (the orange light is blinking) try not to continually press the controller buttons. i met a few hangs cause of that.

my GT5P if hang, got back to XMB and restart, ok. never hard reset.

once my Folding also hang, cos my HDD too full

i don't like shooter games very much, so i seldom buy a shooter game but that turok demo is FUN! love to chop the dinos. the full game got t-rex? wonder what other dinos they include.

actually, traditionally months Jan-Mar very quiet for new games, so i doubt any drastic firmware upgrades this month.

i only interested in the game to check out the dinos and their animation. ask me to play shooter games to shoot XXXX human enemies from start to end, i always lose interest after a few levels.

the turok demo, must play like a chicken slaughter-fest. use knife and stab those dinos to extinction. then throw grenades into their eggs, muahaha.

the demo is very fun for me, even though i never consider playing the full game.
