that 1 is to cover the exhaust from emitting the heat which ll be sucked into the engine and make ur engine power drop. Actually there shdnt be any opening but i dunno y they make a hole there
it is called heatshield... the lubang is supposed to be connected to ur airbox snorkle... why??... because during cold weather (or winter season), engine sucks hot air and helps the engine to warm up faster...
if u see older saga with the airbox snorkle + connector to the heatshield hole, there is a vacuum tube connected to it... the valve is actuated by a vacuum pressure so when cold start, the valve opens and sucks hot air from extractor... and when engine fully warms up, the valve closes and thus sucks cold air from the side fender...

Got.. All LMST got that thing while iswara doesn't have that thing. Sendiri DIY lor.. Autogen selling one very nice.. Haha,.,.
i tot autogen selling that one is jz part of the heatsink??... last time khguan and drexchan did it for their Wise... but end up mass producing it to the public...

and if FICD malfuction will it consume more fuel?
nope... but it will cause ur idle rpm to go hairwire...

Aiyo.. The heatsink got hole, got the usage geh. you know why got the hole? So if put sensor on the extractor, we no need drill lor. >_<
Hood lifter for saga/iswara will never suit saga and iswara. I got try. If I close the hood, the hood will bend.
o2 sensor not put there lah... it is located at the other end of ur extractor, jz before the flexi joint... under ur car....

dunno how it look like. i hv see 1.3efi de o2 sensor. is locate at the bottom of the extractor. like sparkplug

people,
please;
for the love of God, read and remember this
i have typed this so many times already that its getting tiring
that metal is called a
HEAT SHIELD, not a heat sink
its is meant to reduce thermal fatigue on the surrounding parts of the car, among other things
(basically to contain the heat radiated by the exhaust manifold as much as possible)
the hole there is for the autochoke air intake
in the full spec models, when the engine is cold, the air intake draws its air from around the exhaust manifold (hot air)
the engine heats up faster, but more importantly, it runs smoother while heating up
this is achieved by a damper (valve) in the duct
it is operated by vacuum which is tapped from the vacuum hose system
i have not traced the exact route of the hoses though
once the engine is hot, the damper switches the intake to the cold air intake (CAI) from the fender
if u remove the duct that comes out from the air filter box, you will see a circular mold mark which would be above the metal opening in the heat shield when the duct is in place
this is where the intake joint is molded in on the full spec models
these two points are joined using a flexible metallic hose (wire weave with foil covering)
they did not make a specific heat shield for the normal models so they just used the full spec version with the intake point still on it; not to mention it doesnt even fit on the versions of lmsts with the 4-2-1 extractors! (cheapskate bastards
