Is Fung Chee Kong in FTMS recommended for his Irc ? I also heard that several lecturers conducting revision in Mco are from kaplan in england. Do they provide extensive revision or just exam techniques ? (this is just for 2nd consideration since there are posibble clash with timetable)

Finally i have finished the gruelling exam rclxms.gif . Since registration for new intake is couple of weeks away, i felt inclined to share my experience with the lecturers that i have selected for this sitting. Most of them is recommended by the website itself and this is my 'review' :

F7 (Mr Haneef at Mco) : At first i was not inclined to join him since most of my friends splitted to Joe Fang & Keith Farmer (both KSA). However i decided to give it a try since his name was one of the top of the list. To say I'm astounded is a gross understatement, he was possibly one of the most dedicated lecturer to this subject. He conducted his class in a very professional manner and his explanation was precise and detail. He is also a
friendly and caring lecturer (try ask his ex-student). His notes was not that thick but laden with all the key words / 'punch words' as he put it. Most of my friends borrow his notes for reading. He often explains the practical use, the idea of, why we need..... (the standard) which explains the time.
Alas to those students who feel Mco is too expensive (which i agree mad.gif ) is not suitable for all of you. He can be quite nagging sweat.gif at times especially delivering key standards. His lecture although detailed but some of it are more dedicated to P2 which put off some F7 students.
Why I recommend ? you will bound (guarantee) to learn something by the end of class. He likes to repeat. His class session is twice per week (which partially justify the cost).

F8 (Mr Low Chin Ann at KB) flex.gif : Now do not be put off by this statement since i said i follow the site's recommendation, but i selected him based on my past experience with his other papers. I know the premier lecturer are (Phillip Woo & Sheila John). However if rumours are to be believed most of his students passed this paper at 1 go. To those that has followed him before will wholly agree with me that he forced students to write a LOT. He is a very practical and hardworking lecturer (look at his sessions conducted > 5 papers). However he is very energetic and lecture in a very lively manner. His hand-written note was easy to understand thanks to the terminology he created for his own students. (believe me, audit has so many terminology you will puke at the end of it). He even created the mneuomonic himself (to memorise the ISA)
Why I recommend ? I think kolej bandar offers the cheapest fee brows.gif around but look at their facilities first. To those students who wants to have good exam techniques and easy understanding of the tenets of audit you wont go wrong with this lecturer.

F9 (Daniel Ho at FTMS) drool.gif : Ah I always heard people asking about him but gets brief reply in return, allow me to shed some light on this matter. He is a man of many things but believe me, he has a very different approach to lecture. First he seldom or never referred to his notes when teaching but he 100% rely on his hand-written note (yes, write again). He uses a 'student-friendly' approach to help student to understand by giving the key words albeit in simple terms but accepted in exam (try a 50 word cry.gif definition into a slight 3 word). He was the only lecturer that i have encountered that actually explain the reasoning behind the formulas / models (a lot for each topic) and told his students not to memorised them but understand. notworthy.gif
Why I recommend ? Not only he was very good with his calculation methods (very easy to use & understand) , his theories was equivalently good (simple to remember and write). Most of his students like his jokes too. I can't really think of any disadvantages unless you prefer a master english speaker (he always jokes his english was bad). shocking.gif

daniel ho is good in teaching finance paper..
chow kim tai.. never tried before.. hehe

I have followed both under chow kim tai for F5 and daniel Ho for F9. Last time under part 2 papers F5 and F9 was a combined paper so CKT conduct the sessions at FTMS b4 switch to MCO while Daniel Ho specialises in finance papers.
Chow Kim Tai : i don't really recommend him for finance papers but you can consider him for performance measurement papers. His notes was
very simple for understanding and to read. (very systematic). His lecture was direct to the point and will possibly quote some
practical scenario. However his notes was not that detailed compare to other lecturers and not many questions / examples was
conducted. Sometimes he can be a bit slow and boring.
Daniel Ho : He is a finance specialist and if you are considering for F9 or P4 , can opt for him. He has many similarities with Mr Chow like he let the
students tried out the question b4 he teach, systematic notes and very friendly personality. His has his own technique for answering
exam Qs which are very simple to use (especially regarding formulas and models). He managed to balance the theory and calculation
portion which diffrerentiate him from other lecturers (from student feedback). You can also consider Andrew Pang (another veteran).
Actually both are brilliant lecturer but i think Daniel Ho will be more suitable for you if you take F9.

ehh.. forgive me.. i had the impression tt selling off is doing it privately without the college knowing.. which means the buyer will be attending class under ur fren's name until the end of 1st term  laugh.gif sry for the wrong interpretation.. i'm not sure bout the transfer of ownership.. coz under the T&C it says course fees r non transferable..
i think she shd call up kasturi & consult wif them directly bout the situation.. no. is 03-2032 3322/3001
well.. viknes's good in promoting himself... he often promotes himself in class.. haha jz joking... but seriously.. y i think he's such a good lecturer other than being knowledgeable in law is his passion in teaching his students.. whenever possible he really goes the extra mile for u.. he's always so worried coz we nv study & he'll start nagging us to study.. lol..
*
I'm sure everyone who studied ubder viknes will agree he is not without his flaws like excessive jokes, over-elaboration, off-topic coversations (sometimes up to 1/2 hour nagging why do not revise past yr Qs) yawn.gif . Sometimes he tend to forget we are ACCA students by pumping too much
law articles at us rclxub.gif . He will be constantly mock us (orally) certain questions about law sections (133a,14,67,...... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif ).
However, i have to admit he was a brilliant lecturer who can turn a very boring paper yawn.gif yawn.gif yawn.gif into a very lively and enthusiastic subject rclxms.gif .
His notes was way easier (in charts) to understand comparing to thick text books . Try that for revision shakehead.gif shakehead.gif . He can tell so many jokes in a single class that outweights others lecturer in the entire sessions. (perhaps a little bit exaggeration here) tongue.gif

I really needs help regarding P2 lecturer selection icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif
Is it recommended to follow different lecturer for P2 if you have a different lecturer for F7 ?
I have details for Haneef and Joe Fang but I really needs more information of Keith Farmer style of lecture.
Can any of you please shed some light on this. It seems from recommendation that he is the most suitable for P2 (balance in IFRS & consol).
while the other 2 lecturer is at either extreme.

Yes, I did remember he used to claim he was the "only" / "the best" lecturer for F4 in town by comparing his experience and exposure.
He claims to use the best of materials / source for his notes. However judging from most of students experience & feedback most (including me) did not like his attitude that much but most pick him as there is little recommended option available. sigh. I thought most of you recommended him for F4 (please rectify me if i am wrong)
