wow.. suprisingly.. P3 has the highest passing rate among all professional papers..
I thot P1 would be the one...
*
yaya~~i though so~~
coz in tarc, person who has fail muz fail P3...
other than that, 99% from my class pass p1..
but looking at the passing rate, is quiet unbelievable~~

by the way, coursemate, seems like u fail ur p3 too...
dun be sad...gambateh in following sitting...

but looking at those optional paper passing rate, i oso scare scare le~~

May i ask,

is it the sooner u finish the 14-paper exam, the more capable u r?

or it is juz a misunderstanding?

i wonder if there r lots of theory 2 memorise in ACCA? Or it is emphasizes on calculation?

suppose i work hard in studying, is it a certainty 2 pass all the exam ?

thx for the advice given =)
*
i dun really to the statement u made above...
1stly, the sooner u pass the exam, this does not mean u r capable....coz sometimes, the theory read in the books does not represent wat is happening in the real world or needed in the real world..

2ndly, hardworking to study also do not guarantee can pass all the 14 paper..coz ACCA examiner is too creative in setting the question until u unbelievable~

Somemore in ACCA, there are 3 levels.
level 1~introduction -- quite easy and sometime will given exemption
level 2~fundamental -- started to be hard..many ppl starting fail their exam here.
level 3~professional -- need to make use of theory and calculation in fundamental level to apply in some case and make decision.

As a conclusion, ACCA is not a easy exam.(if easy, everybody also take and get a big salary la)

hey all, i wanna ask.. i told my parents i wanna go for Accountancy.. i planned to take ACCA in tarc.. cuz its cheap. but my parents want me to go to those local university, and take like diploma in accounting, then later bachelor of accounting.. then after i graduate, only i revise myself for the ACCA paper.. are my parents' suggestions good? or you guys recommend me to straight away go for ACCA?
*
wat i think of ur parent suggestion is quite wasting time~~
if u r going to take ACCA in TARC, u also get diploma cert. as well..
In TARC, u will get diploma--> advance diploma(ACCA internal and external) -->degree(sheffield halem U in UK for 3 months).
which is more faster, more cert. and more cheaper...

I m tryin to help my fren's bro who wans to study Diploma in Accounting at TAR College, Setapak.

Anyone here knows is there any exemption for the 2 years of Diploma in Accounting at TAR College with the qualification of LCCI? Heard tat those wit STPM need to study one year only to complete the Diploma programme at TAR College.

My fren bro also needs to rent a room near there starting Apr 08 onward. Can anyone advice where to find and which area is better n cheaper? Many thanks.
*
im not very sure to the exemption for LCCI...
coz 1 of my classmate there is also taking LCCI before com in TARC...
but she still take all the subject...
normally exemption only apply for year 1 subject..(not apply to year 2 )

for the room, there r many place can stay here...
the cheapest place is danau kota there, but u must have your own transport vehicle...
otherwise, the suggested place should be wangsa maju desa area or genting klang...

ah  sad.gif  Then it wouldn't be possible for students to finish earlier anymore. That's assuming the order is F4 to F9, then F8,F9,P1,P2.

One would then have to spend 6 months just studying for P3, before moving on to the optionals?
*
i think u can take P3 and Optional paper together~~
u can take optional paper be4 u pass all the P1 to P3~
but u need to pass 1 la~ie P1..
then u can sign up for p2 p3 and 2 optional paper...

the rule set is u cannot juz sign up for optional paer but not sign up the paper before that...

I am currently TARC Student who will graduate Diploma in Accounting this year.
I prefer externally assessed rather than internal assessed.
Which College recommended?
And.. if i forgo TARC advance diploma, is it a correct choice?
If continue TARC, i will still get the Merit Scholarship.
But, in TARC, there is no degree. Have to top up in UK Sheffield Hallem.
It is costly in long run.
So i prefer OBU degree.
*
haha~then im be ur senior here~
im already in the 2nd year of advanced diploma and will graduate on this coming may..
actually i will more prefer to take ACCA through TARC coz the internal assessed can help u to exempted until F9 which means u oli need to take professional paper..
coz the 2nd level of ACCA paper is already very difficult to pass..

if u really so mind ur degree, i think should go Sheffield instead of going outside university..
coz the Sheffield only cost u 30,000 then 3 months can get a certificate already...
if u add the advance diploma cost and the sheffield cost, i think should be almost the same compare to take degree outside..
the most important is, u can get 2 certificate(advance diploma+ degree) instead of only 1 degree certificate.

Your batch many students will graduate in coming may?
Yes. Part two papers quite tough.
advance diploma + degree + acca....
I heard TARC tougher, and the lecturer not so good.
is it true?
*
yes.our final is same as u all.. then take external on june.

not all the lecture not good la~
if u know, our pass rate for P1 is 84% which i think is highest in malaysia.
for me, i will say, as long as u put in ur effort, u will get through the ACCA..
but it may quite tough as u say. coz most ppl is taking 1 or 2 paper per time, and TARCian normally take 3 to 4 eash semester for internal and external..
but of coz, for external u can opt to not take 3 or 4 la

Added on March 29, 2008, 3:09 pmi like to know whether Mr khoo at segi who teaching P2 good onot.
coz my fren is asking for my advice...and he is intended to attend those revision class...

i m stpm student, i dunno wanna take diploma in business studies (accounting) or diploma in commerce (financial accounting). which one is better??
financial accounting juz need 1 yr to complete then can proceed to advance diploma rite?
*
i also not sure about that...
coz normally the course only let u to exempted some unit but not all 1st year unit which mean u also need to take 2 years course..

i think is better to take diploma in business studies (accounting), coz when u finish, u can opt ACCA or CIMA..
for diploma in commerce (financial accounting), i think is straight to ACCA..

i am intended to leave TARC and go SUNWAY to pursue my ACCA externally.
As i know, i will be exempted F1-F5....
If go Sunway, I may take F6-F9, then P1-P3, and last 2 Papers. ( 1 and Half year)
Really not sure where to go...
Sunway or Continue TARC?
I am DAC student in TARC now... If continue at TARC, i still have merit scholrship.
If go Sunway, there is no scholarship for diploma holder.
*
how much is ur CGPA, wat u means by merit scholarship..
as i know, scholarship only for CGPA 3.75 and above..

since both also can exempt, y u need to go for a more expensive place...
some more can exempted until F9 in TARC..

I'm confused with the different variants of ACCA papers. Is the ACCA papers(except Law and Taxation papers) are all the same worldwide? Eg. no matter where the country you come from, and during the exam, everyone will get the exactly same questions? My curiousity arised when I surfed the ACCA website --> Pass year exam papers section, I discovered something looks like this:
user posted image
I wonder why each exam papers(F7, F8, F9 for example) are being arranged in the various variants (HKG, INT, IRL, MYS, SGP, UK...)? Is there any any difference between those papers but there are neither Law nor Taxation papers?
*
yes...there is different there...
for example, for malaysia student, the accounting standard learned should be FRS which is develop by malaysia accounting standard board..but for international stream, then the standard used will be IFRS or IAS which developed by International standard board....

so when u taking the paper, the standard that u code also will be different..
and the law also will be different especially for taxation paper...

*
i think the paper include is
F6,P6 = Income tax Act 1965 and others related law
F3,F7,P2 = FRS (Malaysia Accounting Standard)

and F4 i not sure, coz i exempted on that~

For P2 candidates, is Exposure Draft (ED) examinable? however it does appear in the exam notes and pilot paper, yet lecturer said its not examinable..so anyone have a solution to my problem.. rclxub.gif
*
i think it is examinable
normally the ED will come out in the last question which is a theory question~
last sitting last question i think is a ED also which is the ED for accounting framework...
if u had analysed, the last question in theory is different for all the year...
this is the only question that can be spotted...especially there is new ED or discussion paper...
