450 for an amp will probably get you either a Roland Microcube or a Vox DA 5. Microcube is much better at Metal stuff, while the DA5 is good for classic rock stuff.
As for the guitar? I like the SA because of it's versatility, but you'll have to go and try out a few to see what you really like. Since you want to play metal and rock, go for something with a Humbucker.
No prob. I tested out the GSA60 and bought one for a 10 year old beginner. It's a decent enough guitar and the trem wasn't so bad, but it does go completely out of tune when I tried to do a full dive....... just use it to color your sounds abit. I told him to take it off until he can properly play the guitar.
Bought it with the Roland Microcube for a notch below 1500 with a case, spare set of strings and a strap.
When I had to collect something from Customs, usually Pos Malaysia will send you a letter saying that your package has arrived, but in customs. Then they give you a form to fill up if you want to use Pos Malaysia as your agent to retrieve the package. You just have to pay them a small service charge plus the price of the tax. that's the easy way.
The harder way is to go down to the Customs office (I think it's near the LCCT in Sepang), go down with all your forms, wait in line, find out you have the wrong forms, go back home to your PC to print out the new forms, go back, wait in line again, get transfered from department to department, haggle and complain with the custom's officer about the tax that they are going to charge, pay a little less for the tax, sign more forms, then queue up to pay, wait, pay and finally found out that the guitar is sent to a Pos office "near" your area.
Of course, there ARE exceptions, but like any major purchase, do some research to find the best bargains. However, I do NOT advice buying amplifiers online. 1, They are classified as electronics and have a major tax attached to it. 2, If ordering from a country where the voltage is different from ours, if you plug it in to your wall socket and turn it on, kiss your amp (and half your housing area's power supply) goodbye. You'll need to get it modified (or get a very very powerful step up/down converter) before you can use it.
