QUOTE
While Ben is presenting new information about John Wilkes Booth and the 18 pages missing from Booth's diary, one man stands up and presents a missing page of John Wilkes Booth's diary. Thomas Gates, Ben's great-grandfather, is mentioned in the page. It shows that Ben's great-grandfather could have been a person involved with Abraham Lincoln's murder. When doing more research, the conspiracy takes Ben, Abigail, and Riley to Buckingham Palace(which they break into). It takes them to a book in the White House(which they break into also)and they even steal a page from the book. But in order to see more from the book, their choice is either get elected president or kidnap the President of the United States. Which do they choose? It's obvious. The conspiracy then crosses to Mount Rushmore and they even mention the JFK conspiracy. Could Ben clear his family's name? Or will his family be known as the descendant of Abraham Licoln's murderer?

Casting
Nicolas Cage - Ben Gates
Justin Bartha - Riley Poole
Diane Kruger - Abigail Chase

The first one was that good? I might check it out then. These treasure hunt movies usually bore me. Always thought it was just for kiddos.
Do I have to watch the first one to be able to follow the second one?

the 1st one was ok lah ..

too fake, cos he figure out everything in an instant.

when it comes to breaking code, i think da vinci code is better

cos in da vinci codes, he faces some difficulty and stop here and there

but in NT, he goes smoothly all way

but nonetheless, still a good show. entertaining

Wooah I just noticed... its under Disney? biggrin.gif
Must check it out happy.gif

A news I just read: Nicholas Cage, as all these years he usually told that he dislikes starring in a sequel, felt that he enjoys coming back to National Treasure 2, and at the same time, expresses his interest to come back to his role in a Ghost Rider sequel biggrin.gif

It's from Disney ma. Hehe... I still remember the final scene where they are going out from the cave at the door, with the strong current, somehow his dad still manage to kept his glasses on?! Oh ya, also I thought the land rover 4WD driven by the Wilkinson hit the lorry at the back? When resume the chase, I think the land rover doesn't have any damage at all at the front. Hmm...

Watch at 1U semalam around 1.30pm. Wah lauuu i tell u itu parking super hard to find la. Spend about 30minute looking for parking..Then sudah lambat go itu online kiosk but rosak..have to q at gold class ticketing.

Late 10 minte and lucky the show not yet start. Overall the movie so so nia. Kua zhan a little la. Like how easy they enter White House Oval Office, queens room, kidnap the president, langgar car here and there but no polis tangkat etc.

Overall i prefer the first one better.

Hmm.

I have yet to watch this sequel but I'm guessing there will be some let down in this one as it involves the White House and the kidnapping of the president. I can accept that they were able to steal the Declaration of Independence from the National Museum during the Gala Night in the first movie but kidnapping the president from the White House? I think it is only acceptable if Benjamin Gates possess Nightcrawler's mutant power like in X2: X-Men United.

Haha...

The original National Treasure sure hit the mark by showing us all the historical site of America and it was indeed a sightseeing movie apart from the adventure in the movie. I like the original movie but I'm clueless about this sequel and perhaps time will tell how well this movie did in the eyes and mind of the movie patrons!

I prefer I am Legend though..i think bcuz i lowered down my expectation and im having high hopes for NT2.. biggrin.gif

Nevertheless NT2 is still ok la..nothing special here..the discovery of the GC din really make me go Wow like how NT1 did wen they found the templar's golds..anyways both movies are having diff genre so if u wan a fun and fast paced movie go for tis one..If u have the patient and loves those melodramatic kind of movie u can opt for I am legend..

Juz go for both la.. tongue.gif

someone get that damn book! I wanna know what is on page 47!! Who wants to take a trip to the Library of Congress tongue.gif

btw, I kinda got confused watching the movie...the previous president tried so hard to protect the city of gold...why are they revealing it now?
*
because they didt have the letter that contains the clue of how to find the treasure

only wilkinson family have the letter...

btw I am Legend is better imo...

The movie started off with Ben Gates narrating about the assassination of President Lincoln as well as his own great grandfather. Ben Gaters spoke of how his great grandfather, Thomas Gates, tried to decipher a code and how he threw the piece paper into the fire when he realized it was a treasure map that leads to the City of Gold.

When Ben Gates is done with the narration, Wilkinson step forward and made a statement that Thomas Gates was the mastermind for the assassination of President Lincoln and that he was trying to destroy all evidence by throwing the same piece of paper into the fire. Unfortunately, a torn part of it was salvaged and passed down from generation to generation until to Wilkinson.

Ben Gates then scanned the torn piece of paper presented by Wilkinson and he notice the same code that Thomas Gates was trying to decipher, was behind that torn piece of paper. Those alphabets that appeared is the first clue that lead them to the City of Gold.

Therefore, by finding the City of Gold, its proven that the torn of piece of paper is in fact the treasure map as described by Thomas Gates at his final hour and not some evidence letter that he was the mastermind behind the assassination of President Lincoln!

Added on December 25, 2007, 1:37 amBy the way, I just watched this movie today and yea, its another entertaining piece about treasure adventure and sightseeing movie. I like the table though where the drawer is the key to unlock another secret compartment of the table. Cool architecture.

What's on page 47? I wonder too.
Merry Christmas y'all smile.gif

watched it!!! really awesome!!! rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

*Nicholas Cage* my idol wub.gif wub.gif

But just a question: is everything in the movie is true? i mean like the president's book, the wording on the statue of liberty, the amazing design of the resolute table, or even the existance of city of gold?? Do they really exist in the world or it just made up by those superd producers and director?

editted: No offence pls, i'm not saying that the movie and the story line is not good, what i try to understand is that is the things in <National Treasure> is authentic/really exist or just a fake thing (for example, almost everything in the da vinci code is real, the basilica, the glass pyramid etc...)

Watched it today and boy was I disappointed... I usually do long-winded analysis after a movie, but I'm thinking whether or not to do it for this one. Maybe later... now too sleepy.

Quick comment: Save your cash and do something else instead.

they may be setting up for a sequel with this...
And of course, the information which is contained on Page 47 is never revealed, setting up a possible third film. Someone posed the question to director Jon Turteltaub at the film's press day, and here is his answer:

"I'll tell you, what is on page 47 is I think the single greatest secret in America today... which is... the plot of Star Trek."

Now that's funny.
