Hmm.

I have yet to watch this sequel but I'm guessing there will be some let down in this one as it involves the White House and the kidnapping of the president. I can accept that they were able to steal the Declaration of Independence from the National Museum during the Gala Night in the first movie but kidnapping the president from the White House? I think it is only acceptable if Benjamin Gates possess Nightcrawler's mutant power like in X2: X-Men United.

Haha...

The original National Treasure sure hit the mark by showing us all the historical site of America and it was indeed a sightseeing movie apart from the adventure in the movie. I like the original movie but I'm clueless about this sequel and perhaps time will tell how well this movie did in the eyes and mind of the movie patrons!

The movie started off with Ben Gates narrating about the assassination of President Lincoln as well as his own great grandfather. Ben Gaters spoke of how his great grandfather, Thomas Gates, tried to decipher a code and how he threw the piece paper into the fire when he realized it was a treasure map that leads to the City of Gold.

When Ben Gates is done with the narration, Wilkinson step forward and made a statement that Thomas Gates was the mastermind for the assassination of President Lincoln and that he was trying to destroy all evidence by throwing the same piece of paper into the fire. Unfortunately, a torn part of it was salvaged and passed down from generation to generation until to Wilkinson.

Ben Gates then scanned the torn piece of paper presented by Wilkinson and he notice the same code that Thomas Gates was trying to decipher, was behind that torn piece of paper. Those alphabets that appeared is the first clue that lead them to the City of Gold.

Therefore, by finding the City of Gold, its proven that the torn of piece of paper is in fact the treasure map as described by Thomas Gates at his final hour and not some evidence letter that he was the mastermind behind the assassination of President Lincoln!

Added on December 25, 2007, 1:37 amBy the way, I just watched this movie today and yea, its another entertaining piece about treasure adventure and sightseeing movie. I like the table though where the drawer is the key to unlock another secret compartment of the table. Cool architecture.

What's on page 47? I wonder too.
Merry Christmas y'all smile.gif
