I read from somewhere that the MB white does have discoloration problem. Is it still happening to the current macbook?

Also, is it difficult to maintain a white MB (ie. have to clean the hands everytime before using it)?

Am thinking of getting the black MB, but the difference of RM700 is a lot.

i think the macbook get's dirtied easily.. my fren's macbook which she bought last year.. is kinda brownish on the palm rest surface... so have to be careful on that part.. the rest of it looks white still

At the end of the day, will the palmguard become dirty and need to be replaced?

I got mine at Machine KLCC at RM 69.00 for my mbp...They have for macbook(black/white) as well... Once sticked on.. u wont even notice it's there and it's bundled with the trackpad and buttom protector

I rather replace em once a year than to see my mbp getting scratched and discolored~!

RM 69.00 is fair. I will buy it too once I purchase my MB.

Actually, I got my whole faceplate changed because of the discolor. And surprisingly it costed me nothing, just the petrol to the service centre. When the new one come, it got a layer of sticker on it, so you can just leave it there and it wont get dirty.

use an eraser....dat works...rub it all over...

eraser and makeup remover will do...

I thought they fixed that with the newer revision and replacement covers?

Do you still need the 'condom'? I find it really ugly.

If there is a new case material as you mentioned, it will be a good news.

Added on December 6, 2007, 4:21 pmERASER RULEZ!! It works better than any computer cleaner solution. U hafta be careful cause the tiny bits might get into the keyboard.

I clean once a week, too, and use a guard as well, which leaves marks but better than nothing. 700 bucks just for a colour difference is waaay too much. And the black one shows fingerprints worse than a csi episode! No kidding!

seriously, what kind of eraser did u use?
i use Stabilo Exam Grade 1191 black eraser and it made my MB look dirtier.
very sad.

ermm.. with a bit of discoloration, doesn't that make the MB a bit sexier??
