Watch it yesterday...the movie plot is all over the place. Plenty of plot holes and doesn't make sense logic.
Compare to 1st Transformer movie I would rate 8/10. For the 2nd movie, rate 6/10 After finishing, I don't feel as pump as I was when watching the 1st one. Its more like, FINALLY....its over.....That's it?? ok.... To those haven't watch, go with "low" expectation.....and set your mind, that you just want to see some robots action and CGI effect. Don't fuss about the story or acting so much and you'll be better serve. |

QUOTE(bulkbiz @ Jun 24 2009, 09:12 AM) When everybody, almost 99/100 people say the movie is good and the 1/100(YOU) said the movie not very good, only 2 things are possible, you got mental problem, or you are sick. I think the opposite. Clearly if you research internet, more then half have given the movie 50% rating. Only "rabid" & hardcore Transformer fans? or perhaps Hasbro marketing employees that give that movie 10/10 due to interest. For the 3rd movie, Michael Bay should take a rest or hire better scriptwriters if he want to direct. |

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Jun 24 2009, 09:32 AM) Agreed, but I gave it 8/10. Star Trek 2009 got >90% rating in Rotten Tomatoes. I've watch Star Trek, like it but don't think it is that high. There several cheesy part and also the appearance of "old" Spock and he seems lifeless in his role. To me, 7.5/10 for Star Trek and a nice way to reboot the series. For those saying stuff about ppl giving low ratings, well, good for you guys. Note that I was pumped to watch this movie and was one of those who wanted to give like 10/10. I can't. Want to know the score on RottenTomatoes ? 27%. You might say, who cares ? Well, I loved (and still am) Star Trek, thought it was the best movie of the year. 62 out of 85 people gave it a rotten score. So if anyone gives T2 a low rating, respect them. To get into prespective by rotten tomatoes critics Star Trek = 95% Tranformer 2 = 27% Transformer 1 = 57% I am Legend = 69% The Dark Knight = 94% |

QUOTE(okwhat @ Jun 24 2009, 09:34 AM) yesss...you're right..coz you watch it while u're A good movie is a good movie, not need excuses. Even when I'm tired from work and go watch Enchanted or Monster & Alien or I am Legend, I feel euphoria, happy, thinking, entertain even because all is such a good movie and well directed.1)sleepy 2)stresss 3)drunk 4)frustrated wiv u're couple 5)sit too front of Screen 6)tired 7)while ur wallet broke 8)coz u're already too old for this(OLD FAN of the 80's) 9)not open minded(u're expecting 80's robot) 10)coz u're not read the TF2 MOVIE PREQUEL. Transformer 2 is just ok and I am disappointed compare the 1st one. Some action I like but I also like a story at least that don't insult my intelligence. This movie is directed badly this time I think, perhaps due to their writers strike at one time and perhaps Michael Bay, pen it all the script himself due to "meeting his deadline"?? It seems like lack of direction & heart compare to the 1st one. - slap in the left over CGI from 1st one, even it doesn't make sense in the overall plot. More CGI doesn't mean better. - plot continuity is lost - robots with Terminator like reference, really....a human transformer? I thought it was only in Terminator you have human robots. - Captain or Admiral of the USS Carrier fleet can be call by someone unknown over the phone to fire top secret weapon in less then 2 minutes - The world is just going about to end , and it seems the whole world population doesn't care or ignorant about it... - Decepticon hideout is just beside Earth only, Megatron seems to get there pretty quick. - Transformer can have babies... - many more before too much spoiler reveal My advice, watch this one, and leave thinking brain at home, and just enjoy some of the CGI fighting. Also don't bring kids to watch this. At one moment you have Transformer transforming, another some backside or panty shot or some robots humping Megan Fox legs. The target age group for this movie is Teenagers in their "transformation" years....ONLY!!!! Watch with discretion parents!!! Also it contain insults to all parents would be, and your sons or daughters is ashamed of you. |

QUOTE(SpaceBeast @ Jun 24 2009, 10:13 AM) Caught the movie yesterday and it was horrible, no hardcore transformer fans would ever accept it except the younger generations, i never saw the newer ones but i'd base everything on g1, ffs come on, Soundwave has a different voice and had no combat time being the smartest in strategical tactics and infiltration, of course the movie will appeal to no brainers like a few hardcore transformer fanboyism here, the scenes were definitely too draggy to make us feel that the money that weve spent on was worthwhile, jokes were super horrible and lame, and i hate it when megan fox appears everytime because some ah beng or rempit would keep on whistling as if she was the only girl left in the world, roger was right to give it 1 over 5. I know what you mean....there are 2 sets of Transformer fans.....the one before the 1st movie Transformer....and the ones, after. A pretty harshscore 4/10. As goblinsk8er would put it, michael bay is 200million version of uwe boll. Another money making sequel from hollywood to make some quick cash. 4/10 |

QUOTE(SpaceBeast @ Jun 24 2009, 10:38 AM) My friend which was a huge transformer fan slept 30mins before the movie finished and was asking me how did devastator merged and formed into one, at least i kept my eyes opened till the end of the movie while he couldnt even be bothered with what was going on. He was probrably too annoyed by the twins which has surpassed the annoyances of jar jar binks as well as the love scene which really goes like onion and chocolate in the transformers series. I miss the Devastator combination scenes when I bring my little ones to the toilet. However, I asked my friends who came with me how's that scene....and he mention some parts flying about joining in which he also cannot seems to see clearly and asked me back how come have suction part in the face and from which tractor robot that have this suctions? So, any transformer fans out there know Devastator got this suction power original or not?My little ones keep asked me throughout what this transformer...good or bad. I would reply....in good....or bad. The yellow one good or bad??.....good....the red one? good......then again....is the yellow one good or bad?? Good robot.....Daddy...that red one leh?? Good......This robot good or bad???....bad. |

QUOTE(gunabathy @ Jun 24 2009, 10:49 AM) i jus dont care wat u guys (super critics) say with ur super duper comments bout the movie... Jesus...GSC marketing staff no need to go all out to create a lowyat account just to make this one post, do ya? Don't worry, transformer 2 will earn back the money. But....I ENJOYED THE MOVIE... THATS WAT I CARE... DUN EFFING CARE WAT U CRITICS SAY... AND IM GONNA WATCH IT 3-4 MORE TIMES AT LEAST...(FOR 2 reason: 1 is cz MB has put so much effort n $$$ to bring this movie out for us, 2 is cz this movie is reali worth watching in big screens like IMAX) p.s: Gosh...frm wat the critics here say, it feels like they either watched it in cetak rompak vcd while their kids crying for milk or they realli have got no life...complain that the movie too long(give u 1 hour 30 mins movie like dragonball means u all complain again saying movie too short)...n some saying no much plot (must tell u everything like how a kindergarten teacher teaches kids is it? go read the prequel novel la)...some saying plot is diverted much out of the G1 storyline (Hello, i also watched G1 transformers ok, if ppl give u dat kinda story with lame fight between Prime n megatron, i myself wud vomit in the cinema) megatron and starscream have always been at odd with each other in the G1 series, isnt dat included in the movie, soundwave is more a tactical planner than fighter in G1 series as well, isnt tthat included in the movie, and he ejects ravage from himself, isnt that similar from the G1 series??? again i reali dont care wat u all say la... F U..im gonna watch this movie again n again till TF3 comes out... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(The Hardest Thing In The World @ Jun 24 2009, 12:11 PM) Let me clear something for you guys since my original reply was removed. The scary part, you almost got it right.....1) I haven't watch it. 2) I made it all up from the trailers and the toy I've seen with some of the old Hollywood cliches. 3) It should be obvious I was having a little fun with you guys. But along the way you get someone who is just that little slow on the uptake and you get this(Sigh!). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(ckk125 @ Jun 24 2009, 01:42 PM) the new helicopter is not blackout I'm sure it is, probably Hasbro marketing executive says to michael bay to put him in there irregardless of the plot. All those 1 dimensional robots there to placate the Hasbro toyline. They need to sell Blackout edition 2009!!Also you do notice this movie is also quite racist towards the black people....hey, hasbro executive probably says we don't have black robots for black people, why don't we put some black robots there which I can't even remember their names today after watching yesterday. QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jun 24 2009, 02:16 PM) the helicopter is not blackout.... try and find the movie's prequel comic and ull know. fills up some of the gaps of the movie. I'm not into the lore, so not knowing much compare the hardcore. Consider myself casual audience. Just read the wikipedia for the plot, finally understand Transformer 2 all about. theres 2... alliance and defiance...each a set of 4 comics. |

QUOTE(killerloop81 @ Jun 24 2009, 02:25 PM) I'm not sure if you mean this book....not in the correct age bracket for this kind of stuff lol After reading the plot, begin to understand the direction Michael Bay went with part 2....more about kid stuff, pokemon, power rangers styles of plot & logic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_2 On June 1, 2009 DK Publishing published a 96-page book titled Transformers: The Movie Universe (ISBN 0756651727), which intended to provide factual data on the characters of the movie. This data, however, has been deemed to portray numerous factual errors and discrepancies with the movie itself. Added on June 24, 2009, 2:38 pm QUOTE(zoglandboy @ Jun 24 2009, 02:30 PM) they have lotsa duplicates...... coz likely each model of robot has a few "copies" back in cybertron. When Devastator is formed, there are still other constructions moving around killing soldiers, so it is a proof that many robots have duplicated counterparts, like the primes, all are basically identical!!! Yeah, reading the plot in wikipedia, theIf u read the prequels, they did include the cliffjumper like those in the TFTM toyline, identical to BB, just like a twin!!! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « For the final combination in huge Devastor, » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « .....so this confuse and make lost the general audience except the faithful few who knew about this. This post has been edited by mssv19: Jun 24 2009, 02:38 PM |

QUOTE(zoglandboy @ Jun 24 2009, 02:38 PM) did anyone knew the who are the two tall looking robots killed in the final battle? one where his neck is technically shot off!! They looked so droony to me, I only manage to recognize with Long Haul, Rampage, Ravage, Scorponok in the final battle. Dunno why all the bad guy robots are silver looking...is their toy all silver colour?? Is very terminator like color....only the last part bad guy has some colors. At the forest scene, only Optimus is in color....also quite blur watching the fight there. |
