I have confidence in the sequel. I believe most ppl will be like "The sequel triumphs its predecessor." Everything is multiple times crazier and rapid.

(Checking out on RottenTomatoes, there are quite a number of Rotten reviews, the most prominent saying the film triumphs the first film, but is nowhere memorable.)

Cumulative review sites like RottenTomatoes and (my fav) Metacritic give the "overall" critics view on a particular movie. Movie critics say what they say as the movie is whereas we tend to rate a movie based on knowledge and personal experience. Both matters, it just depends which you think should be the one to look into.

E.g I thought Eragon is one of the worst movies ever as it tried to be LOTR (since I love LOTR).

Wow, some of you guys are giving it an unbelievable 9.8/10 !

Well, I wish I could.

Transformers 2 is pretty much a "bloated" Transformers 1. It is a good thing, and also a bad thing. Michael Bay pretty much was yelling "More! I want more of everything!" and indeed the movie has it.

Now, oddly, I was one of those screaming dudes wanting to give this movie a crazy high score. I just can't. I tried. The movie is not balanced well. The opening sequences were great, but I notice there were "too many close-ups" of the Transformers whereas in Transformers 1, you were vying towards wanting to see their faces more clearly, and when it does happen, it is a truly genuine wow moment. Too many this time around.

The movie kicks off well. It rocks shakily back and forth between the "US Army" scenes talking army mumbo jumbo and "Sam's College Life". Again, it wasn't balanced well. I really want to know whether it is the same guy who edited this movie.

The story is OK - - nothing really special or any "twist of plots". Without spoiling much, there were some very truncated stuff here. Half-baked you can call it. For example, Sideswipe transformed like once and that's it. And the character of Alice ? WTH. What the heck. I am speechless as to why on Planet Earth did they do that. Eye candy ? Yeah. Integral to the movie plot ? Hell no ! Freakin Bumblebee couldn't detect her when she sat in the car with Sam ? I was.... dumbfounded. It was as if Bay (and perhaps the writers Orci & Kurtzman) trying to put a "second" hot girl in and it really didn't quite work well. Wow. Seriously. I thought she would appear again or something, but no. That was it.

Also oddly, there were on rare occasions, issue with the acting performance or put it this way, really unnecessary (and awkwardly cut) moments. John Turturro and his "sidekick" provide some very instantaneous comedy, the moment you see them on screen. This is one of the things I loved about the movie.

Memorable moments, well, perhaps the part where Optimus Prime is on the verge of dying. The whole slow motion thingy appears quite often too, including on Megan Fox.

Its a great piece of visual effects extravaganza, but the whole thing feels "too heavy" and the plot suffers in the middle. Towards the end the major million dollar battle ensues. Again, nothing revolutionary about the sequences, just Autobots / Decepticons being thrown in one after another. Oh, and Skorponok also appears from the sands.

This movie feels just like Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End - - epic, but overall, too heavy to grasp everything. A second viewing ensures a much "quicker" descend into what the movie offers, but first viewing, its either you were absolutely blown away, or you had mixed feelings. It never reaches the "bad levels", it never does.

A great piece of entertainment marred by a few flaws.

Yeah... it was after his DUI accident. Err... when he accident in his car, he was with a Decepticon - - Alice ! Michael Bay said he would incorporate Shia's actual hand injury into the movie plot line.

That's too high. The movie should have been "toned down". Sometimes too much is indeed too much.

Yeah, noticed that too, especially the Egypt sequences. Notice how Transformers 1 carefully placed the distance between the Transformers, and zoomed in only when "ready to hit it big time". Transformers 2 was pretty much "Give em' all !"

And the part where Megan Fox leg got .... , I was like WTH (again) ! What does it feel anyways ???!!!

You know that the news site is a joke site right ? There is a news tab for Aliens and Mutants ? I hope you're kidding. This is the same source everyone uses and its complete BS. Click on other news. There is even news of Kim Jong Il wanting to "pull the Moon" towards Korea.

Note that I was pumped to watch this movie and was one of those who wanted to give like 10/10. I can't.

You might say, who cares ? Well, I loved (and still am) Star Trek, thought it was the best movie of the year.

62 out of 85 people gave it a rotten score.
