They didn't mention one thing which destroys a HD CRT. Geometry problems. Out of 50% of the HD CRTs on the market(theres not many left anyways), they have geometry issues and even some has color bleeding all over the edges of the screen(I'm looking at you, Samsung Slimfit).

Superb quality as it is for a HD CRT, it still isn't an ideal display for gaming. Not to mention, HD CRTs only comes at 32" screen size tops.

Not my cup of tea. For HD movies especially, I generally want atleast 42".

Sony leaving out BC is a mistake, but its a grave one? I don't really think so. Considering majority of PS3 owners owns a PS2, I don't see the point in playing a PS2 game on a PS3. Except you really are that stubborn wanting the 1080p up-conversion.
