Need to ask about Crossfire configuration.

I using Asus M3A32-MVP motherboard. This motherboard have 4 PCIe slot.

If i connect 2 PCIe as Crossfire configuration. Do i have to connect PCIe slot 1 and PCIe slot 2. Because in the manual say for 2 PCIe connect configuration PCIe acting as 16x slot 1 as second PCIe acting as 1x slot 2.

Can i connect slot 1 PCie than connect another slot 3 PCie. Why do i do that, because i want to use the one of the PCI slot.

Anyone familier with this motherboard?
