the 1st generation of the 50mm f1.8 is of much better built quality, and well worth it if can find one in good working condition

actually quite worth it if u can find a good working one, lens last a long time if well taken care off. I myself got the 1st generation 100mm f/2.8 macro lens recently, super sharp lens and good quality built. The 50mm f/1.2 is too expensive though.

No uv filter. Is just the Lens.

Depend lah, 50mm f1.2L got 2 version 1 with USM and 1 wtihout USM. I think so

USD120 i think is for the 1st gen 50mm f/1.8
the 50mm f/1.8 if above RM300 expensive already, coz the lens alone got shop selling at 280-290, the 52mm UV filter is just 20+ only coz I got one for my 100mm
just one version i am afraid, 50mm f/1.2 L USM, the previous version is 50mm f/1.0
f/1.4 is good enough already, unless you got a lot of cash to burn

u are right. The art photo is base on the skill and knowledge.

I know alot of ppl here is just know how to snap photo by press button. But come to technical knowledge all dunno.

Some say buy good lens will get the good art photo.

Yes without the UV filter. So when do you plan to get yours?
Yes, I know RM300 (without UV filter) is a bit expensive compared to other shop. That's why I didn't buy yet.

when 450D juz come out, sure every expensive...
but if u wait for 450D come out, thn buy 400D...

wow i am new here.....an i'm using canon 400D + tammy 17-50 F2.8 lense with BG E3 and 580 EX 11 ......would like to share and learn photography skill with u guys........
besides, any Melaka Kaki here.... so we can have a TT to take photo together .... let's rock together.......

i bought it around Rm 1400 half year ago....... i can say this is a highly recommended lense... cheap and nice!!!! if compare with canon 17-50 hehehe

got 17-55 kit lens?

Hmm, when people say its the kit lens, people tend to refer to 17-55. Technically thats a lens that comes in a kit, right? cause when i asked someone about their 17-55 and they stoned with questioned looks. Then i had to enlighten up with the word kit lens.... -.- there are other lens that comes in a kit right?

so that proves that the EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 shouldnt be known as the "kit" lens right?

and a hoya uv filter for 39

is the price okay? i getting it around 4 o'clock at j one amcorp mall. =D
