bro..
something to thing about...
i saw some pics on ur flickr...
not to put u down or anything...
but some are badly OOF... <----Sorry...my mistake...not some...ONE!
i know it's good if u want to learn MF...
but if it makes ur pics blurry and soft and OOF....
it's not good...
also...when shooting indoor with artificial lighting...
check ur white balance....or shoot raw then adjust it in PP...
u take a look at ur flickr...
the pic of 2 gurls going down the escalator...badly OOF...

Added on December 8, 2007, 10:37 pmone more thing...
check ur exposure oso...
some pics are a bit underexposed...=)
try using exposure compensation...
it's ok..it takes time...even i have only known how to use it 2 days ago...=)
good try though!

I noticed that your pictures have a lot of dead space at the top of the photo especially those taken at Cineleisure. Read up on the rules of third and composition and I am sure it will greatly help your photos.

bro..
it's not the jpeg or compression thingy...
maybe the exposures u used to compose the HDRI has not enough details in the shadows and highlights...
in HDRI..
usually both the shadow(dark) and hightlight(bright) part still retain its details...=)

usually bro...
HDR takes 3 exposures....
1 - balance as per camera metered
2 - lower exp
3 - higher exp
combine all 3 to get the HDRI effect...
