QUOTE(fstrader @ Dec 1 2007, 12:48 AM) bro, mind telling me which shop? mine is also same like urs, if not appropriate to post their shop name u can pm me. I can tell u the name of the shop in PM no prob wan.Another thing to note (according to the shop fellow), once you got the crack, you need to do the treatment ASAP. Say like in 1 day. The longer you take to fix it, the not "nicer" it will be. Anyway, you can ask the shop fellow to explain more for you. |

Something like that la. :-)I am not sure about tinted glass, i guess, should be able to do also la. I think as long as you crack is not like massive, the treatment can be done. Oh yeah, usually if the crack you leave it, the line will get longer for sure. |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Dec 1 2007, 09:29 AM) basically, you have to retint your windscreen cause they going to drill a tiny hole to repair the crack. Not really, they will fix it from outside of your windscreen, so you don't need to re-tint. I done mine without re-tint. And the price they quote is base on the length of the crack, and they give warranty too, dunno 5 years or half year, can't really remember, have to check back. But not sure whether is it the same shop that TS went. The one I went is located at PJ area, same roll with a well known banana leaf rice restaurant. |

I think I know the side effect, you would get some weird colours after some time on the screen, some rainbow colour thingy when viewed under different angle, like soap water.

Oww, that crack is kinda big to me. Mine is just a slight small crack (inside crack), but I didn't bother to repair it since it is unvisible unless you go near.

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Dec 2 2007, 04:36 PM) If damage is not on purpose, the loss is still payable. As consumer, the duty is to proof the loss and then it is up to the insurer to determine whether loss is payable or not. If not, insurer will have to give reason why and the onus shift back to consumer to proof otherwise.Well, for windscreen you can get separate windscreen cover for your comprehensive policy by paying an extra premium. If the windscreen is broken/chipped you can still claim from the insurer. However, if no extra premium is paid but you still intend to make a claim, the downside is that you lose your NCD. |

Anyway TS, I want to know the shop details also, pls PM. Good to keep it handy for myself or friends. I just changed mine about a month ago. KNN, the stone hit the corner, cannot repair and the crack grow day by day, from 1in to 10in, RM420 bye bye. |

It's quite expensive to pay RM60 to fix the windscreen.
My 2 cents: Just buy a super glue to glue the part that got hit! If the crack is too big, then change windscreen lo...... |

Mine also kena stone. I bought insurance for windscreen but i didnt insure my tinting so not enough to cover for a new windscreen + tinting.
So i sent it to fix at the panel for Tokio Marine insurance. The "glass mechanic" shop is opposite pelita in SS2. They will do the claims, etc for you cos they are panel. This post has been edited by bleeper: Dec 11 2007, 05:34 PM |

Apparently they use resin to fill the cracks. According to the article, they can still see the resin upon close inspection. However, for the price they are charging, i think it's good investment if the windscreen can last few more years. |

Oh ya, after they fix it, the spot has a small rain drop size of cloudy area. But at least cheaper than changing a new tinting.
Honda service center suggest buy insurance for tinting as well when renew my insurance next year. Added on December 11, 2007, 5:40 pmHi guys, i just read through the thread and noticed that i might have made a mistake but im not sure. Is it wrong to put the name of the shop i went to in my previous post? should i remove it? This post has been edited by bleeper: Dec 11 2007, 05:40 PM |
