I went to Sunway Pyramid that day to look around for a good shop selling PS2 for a good price.I went to the highest floor and there got 3 shops selling PS2 stuff.

1st one is Genius Game Shop,2nd one is Mega Man Enterprise and 3rd one is BLK.

I like the BLK shop because the chinese guy wearing specs there very friendly and explain a lot in case we don't know anything.He quoted me RM590 for the PS2 not including 8MB memory card,fully-modified PS2,2 local controllers(can be upgraded to ori but costs some money),1 year warranty, and 10 free games.I forgot to ask about the fan lol.So is this a good offer?

Mega Man quoted me RM580,not including memory card also and also 10 free games but not so nice.He was tending to other customers so like din bother me at all and Genius Shop may be totally out,because one girl there very stupid.Don't know how to talk properly!!

This Thursday I may buy from BLK and I need some help whether this is a good offer or not and also I need some tips on how to differentiate between ori and local controllers and whether the PS2 itself is recon or not.

u might want to check in garage sales section to see if anyone else can give u a better price.

hi, i'm also kinda scouting for a ps2.

here's what i found so far:

-in central hypermarket, in OUG, there are 2 shops selling ps2 for RM550. includes memory card, 1 ori & 1 local controller and "free" 10 games.

-in parkson/formerly-known-as-yaohan (next to central market), 1 shop selling for RM590, includes memory card but 2 local controllers, "free" 10 games.

-in lowyat plaza:
i) 1 shop (near pc-zone) selling for RM600, with mem card, fan, stand, 2 local controllers and "free" 10 games.

ii) another shop (near all-it) selling for RM600, mem card, 2 ori controllers and "free" 10 games.

iii) another shop (2nd floor near the escalator) selling for RM599, 2 local controllers, mem card, stand, blabla and "free" 10 games.

in lowyat.net, strongbaby selling for RM400 with 1 ori controller and that's it, together with ultra slow service as claimed by himself.

so these "free" 10 games that i keep seeing, are they ori games or..."local" games?

As for me Lowyat.net woulde be the best..Haha for that kind of money you can get fat ps2 which is in really2 good condition

Lots of accs too..I f you don't mind buying 2nd hand of course...

strongbaby bulk is selling ps2 too
I think can get PS2 slightly faster from him compare to PSP, coz not many people wants PS2 these days, demand is not that higjh

Here the shops are selling at around RM4XX. Not sure what is includes but then I think it's the usual package being offered here (Free Games 10-20, Second Controller Free, Free Memory Card and other stuffs.)

to me, it seems now is a bad time to get one from him. 5 buyers still waiting for theirs, over 20 days of wait already...haha.

is the current generation of slim ps2 really unreliable, as in breaking down (overheat & lens problem) all the time? or it will be ok as long as we don't use it for too long? sorry, this is kinda out of topic, but since ppl kept recommending the fat ps2, my doubts are gradually increasing (on the ps2 slim).

no more lens issue with v15 and above. overheat still has i think. but i play 2-3 hours straight
also no problem.

might get extra fan though.
