anyone know the pricing for PS2 in Penang? How long should the warranty be? Will we get a longer warranty if we purchase directly from Sony Shop?

my fren is gona get a new ps2 at sg wang..could some1 tell me what is the latest modchip in the market now?any difference with the others like not being able to play certain dvds?

any shops to recomend?

1x ORI console set (NEW) - no need usb fan, coz built in fan
2x ORI (real ORI) analog controller - cable much2 more longer than fake.
1x 8mb Memory (ORI)

2nd package
1x recond set - need usb as the built in spoilt or slow
2x fake controller.
1x 8mb Memory

they told me normally if consoles need usb fan,
thats considered RECOND sets...

My ps2 just died lens defeated after 7 years perfect use oh well..

well went to send for repair but first of all, to change lens is like 300+ apparently, plus its reconditioned.
so.. was thinking might as well get a brand new one?

the ps2 cdrom is not functioning
i dunno the exact prob
but its something like the cdrom not spinning
the ps2 is the small 1 scph70002
ps2 prob is all about cdrom rite?
so b4 i go to shop and ask them to repair

and which shop shud i go
im from subang perdana and bangi

since brand new ps2 is 400++
if the repair cost is 300
maybe its better to get new1
(the owner is my fren @ oversea
he buy @ msia of coz the modded 1....so b4 my other fren go back there(23/11)

I'm not sure where you can go, but what you can BEST do first is to ask the shop to just CHECK FOR YOU what exactly is wrong with the ps2.
Don't ask them to FIX it yet.Just check!
And the cost depends on the problem obviously.Could be the lens, could be the mod chip?
The lens problem would obviously be the most expensive ( I think! ) whereas to replace a mod chip would be rm120-150+?
But you need to know the PROBLEM first, so get it checked before anything.

Went to Giant Plentong today and saw that a new PS2 set goes out for RM4XX. Not sure what is included though but I think it should be the usual stuff.

PS2 prices vary from place to place really. so even if someone says a price here, it might change by the time someone else goes out to buy it.
so the best bet is to scout around and ask for the best prices

I went to Sunway Pyramid that day to look around for a good shop selling PS2 for a good price.I went to the highest floor and there got 3 shops selling PS2 stuff.

1st one is Genius Game Shop,2nd one is Mega Man Enterprise and 3rd one is BLK.

I like the BLK shop because the chinese guy wearing specs there very friendly and explain a lot in case we don't know anything.He quoted me RM590 for the PS2 not including 8MB memory card,fully-modified PS2,2 local controllers(can be upgraded to ori but costs some money),1 year warranty, and 10 free games.I forgot to ask about the fan lol.So is this a good offer?

Mega Man quoted me RM580,not including memory card also and also 10 free games but not so nice.He was tending to other customers so like din bother me at all and Genius Shop may be totally out,because one girl there very stupid.Don't know how to talk properly!!

This Thursday I may buy from BLK and I need some help whether this is a good offer or not and also I need some tips on how to differentiate between ori and local controllers and whether the PS2 itself is recon or not.
