Try Storm Codecs. Better compatibility than K-Lite and it include FFDShow and Media Player Classic.

i've installed klite, storm codec and all the codecs all of you mentioned above.

but i still have the same problem. i cant play .avi files. it slows down every.single.time.

so in the end i have to convert to mpg. very mafan lah!

anyone know why? please help!

try DivX codec....

what software you use to encode to mpg, usually the software will show you the codec of the avi file before encoding it to mpg

I've face problem when playing .avi file which previously pop outs audio codec error 6771 ( Ogg Vorbis ), after i had install the latest ogg codec,i'm able to play the file but then there's juz noise..but wat i expect from the music file,anyone hve any idea about this ??

everyone,i found that k-lite codec pack is great and very nice.i dun find any problem with the codec pack.until now i've never encounter any video file i cannot play.
and for .mp4 its oso known as .aac (is it? i think so). . for some .mkv files u need to download a single ffdshow codec and install as update the pre-existing ffdshow codec.

just install a k-lite codec pack and real alternative pack without having to install the laggy real-one player.i oso installed itunes in my pc,so i got quicktime player...maybe thats the reason for my smooth mpc.

i installed the k-lite pro but still i cant play the video..
i dun think thats my video is corrupted..
is there a new codec needed to be downloaded?

i updated the codec and i can view the video
