Hi, I wonder if there are lots of new PSP gamers out there wondering which games to buy.
This thread will (hopefully) help them in choosing a game for them to buy and at the same time you can also give your honest opinions about the games you've recommended (if you want to).

Remember, your recommendations are completely yours. Don't recommend games based on other's thoughts and opinions.

RULES

1. Recommend 5 games or below, minimum 3 games. Below than 3 games won't be added into the recommended list.

2. You are free to recommend any remake games. Refer to this post : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/561140/+20#

3. Opinions are optional.

4. List will be updated after your post[s], please be patient! thumbup.gif

To get the ball rolling, I'll recommend 5 of my games first. brows.gif rclxm9.gif

1. Burnout Legends (Racing)

This game is the best racing game (is it a racing game?) ever next to Ridge Racer. I love the fact that you can bash into cars and slam them so many times and at the same time unlocking new cars!

2. Jeanne D'Arc (RPG)

This game is really good and it has the potential to kill your time while playing it. You can plan your battle strategies as well as having fun following how the story goes. It's an anime as well. That makes it more exciting, as if you're in an anime. LOL thumbs up.

3. Lumines (Puzzle)

This game is very challenging yet a very fun game to play. Very addictive as well. When you advance levels after levels, you'll obtain new themes and songs which adds more scenario to the whole gameplay of this unique puzzle game. A very nice game I must say.

4. Mind Quiz (Quiz???)

This game tests how your brain works and how strong your attention level is. I love it because it has the potential to increase your IQ level! Although sometimes it's kinda boring but you'll get cravings for it after awhile, trust me.

5. DJ Max Portable (Simulation)

I LOVE THIS GAME TOOOO MUCH! I love it since I love all rhythm games in the world like beatmania, rock fever and stuffs. I love this and I can play this all day long because it's so fun and I love it! WOOHOOOOO

i prefer games that also fun when playing ad-hoc, each of the games ranked the best from the top smile.gif

1. Warhammer 40,000: squad command
a turn base strategy game like fallout tactics, super robot wars kinda stuff, a very challenging games too bad just 15 mission for single player, but when playing infrastructure / ad-hoc this games is GOD! a lot of mission and different kinds of game play style, its all about tactic and challenging wars. WARNING...VERY ADDICTIVE if u likes this genre

2. Virtual Tennis 3
doesnt need to tell more, this game purely easy to adapt, a lot of things to learn and play, and quite nice playing it ad-hoc

3. Gundam Battle Chronicle
new 3D fighting game, robots, easy to play, although in japanese, reconmended if u like something different

4. burnout Legend + dominator
oh these 2 title no doubt very fun to play even in ad-hoc, allows us to see fast racing, nitrous, domination, crashing, blowing up, drifting and nice soundtracks

5. Worms Openwarfare 1 and 2
a turn back tactical...kinda cute with funny phrases from them, nice to play when u jsut need some light gaming

just 5 of these psp game i consider the best smile.gif, i seldom use my psp for games but more for movies and music on the go.

My Top 5:

5.
SEGA Rally Revo
(Rally Racing)
The NFSs for the PSP sucked balls,IMO..
and no other racing game looks as interesting as this.

4.
Ace Combat X Skies Of Deception
(Flight Simulation)
Need no introduction,i think.
want a good solid arcade style flight/combat simulation video game, get Ace Combat.
accept no substitute.
ad hoc only,unfortunately

3.
Metal Gear AC!D 1/2
(Mixture Of Turn-Based Strategy With Card-Based Gameplay)
i prefer MGA's graphic style,but AC!D 2's gameplay is a little bit better.
toss up between the two.
only Ad hoc

2.
SOCOM: Tactical Strike
(Action-Simulation)
Take SOCOM,and drop it into a tactical scenario, instant gaming heaven.
carry out infiltration and executions with great gameplay mechanics.
confusing control scheme at first, but becomes second nature as the game wears on.
Ad Hoc and Infrastructure supported

1.
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops/MGS PO + (Stealth Action)
since MPO+ is an extension,i consider it one and the same.
an immersive story, great assortment of weapons and gadgets, amusing characters, and a phenomenal online component.

notable mentions:
Syphon Filter Dark Mirror
(Stealth Action)
Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow (Stealth Action)
M.A.C.H. (Air Combat Racing)

Great multiplayer and single player modes. Great replayability.

3rd Star Wars Rouge Squadron

i think thats about it that all i can remember tongue.gif

@maximp : Looks like we love burnout =D~ Just got dominator yesterday and it rocks! Love the road rage

@Mgsrulz : I agree that all NSF games on PSP suck really bad, I have tried NFS rivals and it can't really beat the others. So.. yeah..

@Mr.Shiney : I think there must be lots of MHF2 lovers out there >_>" If you love MHF2, I recommend you Jeanne D'Arc (you can't ad-hoc anyway). A very nice game!

This is my 5 personal faves on the PSP of all time. thumbup.gif

1. GoW: Chains of Olympus
- Yah, I know the game isn't out yet but the demo has more than proven it kicks arse and will pawn any game of the same genre when it comes out.

2. Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command
- What can I say, I am a sucker for turn based strategy. But Field Commander doesn't provide enough eye candy as Warhammer.

3. Lumines
- Damn damn addictive game but not many ppl play it and that's a shame since it is awesomely fun especially ad hoc. Another game that comes close is the underrated Every Extend Extra.

4. Dead Head Fred
- Witty, sarcastic and swapping quirky heads make my day. biggrin.gif

5. Burnout Legends
- Ah, yes. It's indeed a legend on the PSP scene. Pick it up now and you'll still have plenty of fun with it.

ok i'm not much of an ad-hoc player so my choice of games are based purely on single player campaign.

1. loco roco

sure it looks like a simple game to casual onlookers but look deeper and you will see the hallmarks of a truly great game.... easy to play but different to master (try scoring perfect 20/20 on each stage).
with an art style of it's own and a catching soundtrack, there aren't many games like this on the PSP.

2. metal gear acid 2

it helps if you are a metal gear fan or a strategy fan, but still i think anyone can enjoy acid2. superior to both portable ops and acid 1 in my opinion, acid2 is like the ultimate fan service to any metal gear fan. the art style is welcomed change from acid 1 and the 3D theatre is worth the price of the game alone.

i haven't been playing my PSP much since getting it so i only have two to recommend.... whistling.gif

<------- Any game with her in it will do tongue.gif

No seriously, I've only got 4 games at the moment,

Disgaea: This one can last forever... made for ppl obsessed with the finer details (like me). It's got Etna too smile.gif

Final Fantasy Tactics: Best fun I had on the PS1. Better than FF7. Imported copy cost me 70 quid when i was studying in the UK, the new one costs around RM150 only and you get two new classes to play around with and loads of hidden characters.

Street Figther Alpha 3: Portable goodness, but your thumbs might break off. Load times rather good too. Perfect pint sized port of an old classic.

Darkstalkers: For times when you don't feel like using Ryu wink.gif

I'm boring... i play only two kinds of games, and if they were any cheaper i'd get the SRPG Jeanne D'Arc too. Strategy for long drawn out sessions and beat-em-ups for the quick fix!

It actually depends on what sort of genres of games you would prefer, but here's my stake :

1. Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops / +

This game is just staggering. Controls work extremely well, and the graphics is awe inspiring. Online mode can keep you playing for months. I've been playing online for almost a year. You just have to check it out yourself.

2. Ratchet and Clank : Size Matters

If you love platformers, you can't miss this.
Amazing graphics with a little humour. You got to try this.

3. Silent Hill : Origins

A horror survival game. Graphics is amazing. The ambience is spooky. You'll have nightmares after playing this game. It's that immersive. Believe it or not.

4. Burnout series for the PSP

Think you got speed ? Test it in this game. The challenges are more than enough to keep you busy for at least 1-2 months (If you're planning to get all gold, that is)

5. Grand Theft Auto : LCS/VCS

A 3D world roaming game, attend missions and have fun wrecking havoc in the city. A long game which may take you up to 3-4 months (depends how fast you play, and completing at 100%)

Other games worth to look at :
- Final Fantasy VII : Crisis Core
- Ace Combat X : Skies of Deception
- Syphon Filter series on the PSP
- Monster Hunter Freedom 1 & 2
- Tekken Dark Resurrection
- M.A.C.H.
- Practical Quotient series
