Rare sighting. I just went to ATE at Lowyat.net. Saw that they have ASUS Striker Extreme 2 with 780i SLI on ther price list but the price is not written.

NVIDIA would not license their SLI technology to Intel cause it's the only way for them to maintain a healthy market for the NForce Motherboards...and Intel fights back by not giving them the full details on Penryn (and future processors) that NVIDIA needs to manufacture their motherboard. Sort of Corporate Espionage or Sabotage...whatever. Well...that's what we all heard. Not sure if it's true or not.

we should always let sum ppl try out new stuff, cuz normally 1st batch of stuff got high chance to have problems.

That's why smart consumers wait for reviews and price drops.

Still, NVIDIA fails to deliver ever since NFORCE 5xx series...and it's just coincidence that INTEL produce better products then. If only they would license their SLI to Intel...They would sell more of their graphic cards then...

Maybe you are the supporter of underdogs, or NVIDIA's fan, or AMD.ATI's fan, or Intel hater...whatever that you are, it is clear that Intel is the leader now.

Impressive, but not worth the change for many. I guess 790i then, eh? (if it even exist)

Added on December 18, 2007, 10:36 amOh, and that's one great looking motherboard. Love the grunge styling.

I was thinking to replace my mobo(GA-N650SLI-DS4) for this one. Coz my onboard Network adapter spoiled due to strucked by lighting. And weird problems sometimes showed up.

Weird problems...should go start a thread and ask for help. One of these babies is gonna cost you a bomb.

Wow...you got 3 GTXs or Ultras? Guess you're loaded and won't have to worry about the cost of the 780i.

Sigh. After reading so many reviews on the web...I wonder if 780i is even worth it? Should we wait for 790i instead? It's an old picture from an old article, dated way back to 1st of Nov...
