A nice movie overall, despite the closing seems too rush to me.
I like the message Neville broadcast through radio. "My name is Robert Neville. I am a survivor living in New York City. I will be at the South Street Seaport everyday, at midday, when the sun is highest in the sky. I am broadcasting across all AM radio networks. I can provide food. I can
provide shelter. I can provide security. If there is anybody out there. Anybody. Please. You are not alone." No one can say this message as sentimental as Will Smith. The loneliness and helpless feeling are just simply overwhelming.
A few scenes almost make me drop my tears. When Neville suffocate his only companion Sam, I can almost feel his heart break. So sad. But too bad nothing else can be done, because she is heavily injured and infected.
Since the beginning, I assume that the dog is a male, due to the the name "Sam".
All the way I thougth the vaccine or cure must has someting to do with butterfly, as Neville's daughter keep on saying "Daddy looks, its butterfly" and there is a scene where the dog, Sam saw a butterfly in the corn field. And at last when Nevillel saw the butterfly tatoo on Anna, I am almost screaming myself out loud, "Yeah! Thats it. The cure is with the butterfly!". Looks like I misunderstood the lying message that the story plotter want to tell.
Will Smith save the movie once again. Superb acting! You are the legend.
